Is Randle playing for a contract this game....

dep026 : 12/24/2015 4:20 pm
As one of the biggest anti-Randle guy here, I find it interesting that in one of his last regular games possibly, RR comes into possibly a must win game as the lead guy. He has a strung together a few decent games in a row, and now will become the focal point of the offense.

if he breaks out, can he possibly retain a spot on the Giants next year. Would anyone be that shocked if he turns in a 7 catch 140 yards with 2 TDs?

Randle isn't it. There are some very good options in free agency. Players that are clearly more athletic, explosive and productive than RR. We have the cap room to make a move in this area as well as several others comfortably. He had his chance and wasn't good enough.

Who do you think would be a viable replacement that more than likely won't be re-signed by their teams? I just hayte doling out big dollars to WR FAs..

Sanu was mentioned as one possibility. We very well may have to take a chance on another team's up and coming WR. I'm not sure who. But, I'd be more inclined to take a chance on a guy with 2-3 years in the league than have Harris as the #2 or rely on Davies. I do know, that I no longer want to rely on Randle as the #2.
'56 you have to pay for talent and with Cruz future in doubt...
Torrag : 12/25/2015 11:28 am : link
...we need a bona fide #2 to run with OBJ. As far as who...free agents can and do sign where the money is.

WR imo is a good position to acquire talent on the open market. Scheme and fit have little to do with their success. They regularly swap jerseys and have success for their new teams.

You're probably familiar with the names available but here are a few. Jeffreys(true #1 probably too expensive), Benjamin, Mathews, Crabtree and possibly Megatron if a restructure cannot be arranged. Marvin Jones, Sanu and Kearse are in the next tier.

I like some of those names. But, how much will a guy like Megatron, for example, cost? I'm not sure I would pay his market value given we have a #1 already. Some of those other names are very intriguing.
Matt I'm not even sure Megatron will be on the market...
Torrag : 12/25/2015 11:36 am : link
...if he is it's due to falling production at his current price tag. I don't think he's going to command elite #1 money at this stage but he certainly won't come 'cheap'.

That was kind of my point. Plus, I don't see him accepting a true #2 position.

I would have definite interest in Jeffery(is he a FA to be?) and Sanu..The others? Would have to be a reasonable contract..
If the objective is to replace Cruz
JPinstripes : 12/25/2015 11:50 am : link
Then the Giants should go get Travis Benjamin as he is a dynamic slot receiver stuck in Cleveland. He and OBJ on the same field would be a DCs nightmare.

I could live with that as well. It depends on how they view Harris moving forward and whether the difference TB might make would be worth the bucks

Yes, good point.
I hope he absolutely destroys it

this week against Minnesota, and then the Giants let that bone head walk.
Absolutely not.

Guy has had plenty of opportunities. Time for an infusion of talent via FA and the draft, and now that Davis has had a full year to sit back and watch, see what we have in him next season.
Well, a contract may be on the line,
Mad Mike : 12/27/2015 9:45 pm : link
but Randle doesn't appear to be playing for it..
maybe an Arena League contract

KWALL, homerjones, radar, bluelou defend this clown. They will probably try to explain that the play calls for him to stop running mid route, especially when open.
RR is a joke. What a jackass. He stops his route

and lets a pick 6 go uncontested.

Awful draft pick, awful receiver, awful team player.
