Does anyone know how many times Eli was hit in the NFC Championship game against San Fransisco? Looks like he was sacked 6 times but I can't find anything on the number of hits.
I was just reading about how Brady was hit 20 hits by the Denver defense in Sunday's AFC Championship game. As bad as Brady was hammered by Denver, I thought Eli took a worse beating from the 49ers in 2010/11 game. I can't really remember any time I saw a QB take a worse beating in a playoff game than the one Eli took out there in San Francisco.

Also up there was Hostetler in the 90-91 playoffs/SB
Parcells said eli's performance that day was one of the best he had ever seen by a qb.
I recall trent dilfer saying the same postgame as well.

And the detail was exquisite, down to the dirt on his wristband...:)
The outcomes of the games and the next games weren't too bad either :-)
That Niners game was awesome. Eli proved how tough he was in that game.
But IMO, I feel like Eli's 2011 Super Bowl performance is underrated and his 2011 NFC Title Game performance is overrated (by BBIers).
I've never seen him be more accurate than he was against the Pats in that game. And as tough as he was against the Niners, our Offense had 12 DRIVES IN THE 2ND HALF with 10 Punts. The only 2 scoring drives came on Kyle Williams' fumbles.
People always talk about that beautiful Manningham TD in that game on 3rd down. Bigtime money throw. But outside of that our Offense did nothing that 2nd half. Eli didn't choke and he deserves major credit for that. But unlike a lot of BBIers I don't consider that his best game as a Giant. I'd take his SB performance against NE in '11 over it.

My top 3 eli games:
2007 NFC championship
2011 NFC championship
2011 super bowl
I have the same one and the Manningham catch because BB got his. They are great

It's hard to capture how bad the weather was for the SF championship game. I lived in SF for 15 years, it was absolutely the coldest day I experienced in the area. The rain was literally thick, there was sleet and ice mixed in the fog.
Not turning the ball over was a miracle every possession. Graded on a curve for conditions and opponents defense, Manning was a 100% that day.
Also total BS, since I'm reasonably sure the Giants hit him more than that in Super Bowl XLII - I believe it was 23 times, and in fewer dropbacks.
In some ways, I'm happy it wasn't called, it kind of added to sweetness of the eventual outcome.

Not sure any of those hits were any worse than MarshallOnMontana, or BurtOnMontana.
Fangio figured out how to get pressure at halftime and Eli in 2 1/2 quarters faced something even Seattle couldn't bring on their best day.
It was great while it lasted. :)
Since 2006. I have no idea how he came up with that since I could only find Football Outsiders who keep that stat since 2013

I tried googling the QB hits numbers from that game as well and came up blank. And I would be extremely surprised if the Giants 12 sack game in 2007 didn't produce more than 20 QB hits

Even beyond the football field, that was one of the greatest performances I've seen in any sport.
Olympic level like performances by Jean-Claude Killy, Dan Grable, Carl Lewis, Edwin Moses...
Eli's performance that game was epic beyond the football field IMO. Talk about true grit!
On one sack three guys hit him after he got the ball off. You could tell that defense and coaching staff were terrified of what Eli, and that offense could do. That game sealed his legacy as a Giant.
Just like LT playing with a separated shoulder against the Saints sealed his.
Haven't had many since then.
