Interesting that MAdoo still hasn't completed his staff.

Gotta figure that he's hoping to interview coaches from the SB teams, but who? It seems like we've filled our offensive coaching staff. So you've gotta figure we're looking for some assistants on the defensive side of the ball. But who?

Mills? Would the Panthers let him go for another assistant DL position, and would he want to come here for that?

And would we be looking for defensive coaches (Asst. DL or LBs coaches) from Denver, a team wedded to the 3-4?

I'm mildly fascinated to see who else comes aboard. BTW, Denver has 23 coaches and Carolina 20...right now it looks like we have 18.
Yes

Could be but I wouldn't read too much into it. The main positions have been filled. Sounds like they might want an assistant DL coach.

The main players are locked up.
I was under the impression that the coaching staff was complete.

The last two additions were the DL and linebackers coaches.

No. The staff has not been announced yet. The are media reports that they may add new coaching positions.
Adding positions seems like a good idea.

By current NFL standards, Coughlin's staff was quite small. With the expanded practice squad and constant roster turnover, good assistant position coaches can add a lot of value.
They certainly have enough staff

to do whatever player evaluations they need to do and work on free agency strategy.
I'd love to see them bring in Sam Madison

He was good for the young DBs during his time here. He also interned with the Giants during training camp in '13, with the Ravens in '14 when Spags was there and he coached the DBs at the East-West Shrine game where I heard he had rave reviews from prospects, scouts and media. He's currently an analyst in Miami but I wonder if he'd have interest in being an Assistant DB's Coach.

The Giants already have two defensive back coaches so I would think it would be unlikely they would add a third.
I wonder what other coaching role he has in mind to add

Seems like the bases are covered.
Interesting

That they have not really announced Spags as the defensive Coordinator nor has Macadoo formerly announced it unless I missed something .... And there hasn't been a peep out of Spags .....hmmmmmm

Eric what might you think ?

I agree it's highly unlikely but I believe Cincinnati and Jacksonville have three when I was looking through coaching staffs. I don't have my notes in front of me. Also, defensive assistant would be a good option. Many teams have multiple.
could be something as simple as

carry assistants that focus specifically on one position like DT's, DE's ? I know some have them for most of the offensive positions except for Oline, seems the coaches for that coach all the positions along the line.

Well, for a while, Coughlin carried Merritt and Giunta. Merritt worked with the Safeties, Giunta on the DBs.
So who is running the offense

If ever a former player could jump right in to being a helpful coach, Tuck seems to be that guy.

It is doubtful but I wondered whether he would grab someone form one of those staffs to leap frog over Spags. Again doubtful - more likely it's an asst. DL coach.
