Harbaugh and Michigan just landed

est1986 : 2/3/2016 1:18 pm
The number one overall recruit, defensive lineman Rashan Gary. Gary was the consensus number one overall recruit, fellow D-Lineman Jadeveon Clowney and Robert Nkemdiche were the only other consensus number one overall recruits since 2000. Thoughts?
Thoughts?

But it sucks watching Michigan walk into NJ and take the top recruits virtually uncontested from Rutgers. I'm hoping chris ash can change this a little, but my god having Flood seems to have hurt RU so badly.

Robert Nkemdiche. Just read that scouts think he can run in the 4.5's at 300 pounds, that is insane. But Michigan will be competing for a BCS title as soon as next season thanks to Harbaugh.

It's way before Flood. Before Michigan there was Penn State in NJ. Even Iowa has had a run getting some good kids in the 80s-90s. Schiano had a small run of getting NJ kids, and even he was not getting 5-stars.

The Midwest is a shitty hellhole of snow and meth addicts. Their fans are supremely arrogant despite their conference being a joke for most of the past two decades. They have some of the most repulsive coaches in NCAA history in Urb and Harbaugh.

And you want the cherry? Ohio State's supposedly awesome title team LOST AT HOME TO VIRGINIA FUCKING TECH. Lost. To. Tek. At. Home. How the fuck is such a team even allowed in the playoff? No problem. It's just that none of them have played for Syracuse in at least half a century.
Your point?

Like saying I'm still a Giant fan because of Charlie Connerly.

the point was made that it unusual to root for a team you have no ties to as an alum, I don't have a single tie to Syracuse

Just because you're doing it doesn't make it unusual.

And to further the point, you decided to root for Syracuse because they had all the best players. That's exactly the problem, and why some people can't stand the Michigan/ND/Alabama/etc. etc. Bandwagoners.

and are almost as annoying as Notre Dame fans. My school didn't have football and I've always rooted for SU due to geography and Clemson because my cousin sat the bench there about 30 years ago.

The michigan fans who post here like robcarpenter, soz, kwhite, myself among others were frequent posters during the rich rod and brady hoke eras.... I am not sure how you can say we are just coming back when you registered 8 months ago.

Thanks for the shout out.

I've been on this board for a while and I've been a Michigan fan since going to grad school there (graduated in 1998), I was at the 1998 Rose Bowl.

I get that some people hate Michigan. But the Michigan fans who post here are hardly fair weather fans.

Our recruiting class kicks serious ass. Can't wait for the MSU and OSU games next year.

Rutgers sucks, but they only need to get 1 or 2 of those guys a year to be more competitive. And as it is now, they're basically like a c-, not Indiana or anything. Flood wad a joke and they totally botched their first couple years in the b1g by keeping him, but I'm pretty optimistic for the future all things considered.

They've had bad breaks, bad coaches, and bad luck, and we have seen schools with less potential become solid year on year teams. If they can fight to be ranked throughout most of the year in most seasons, and have one magic season every ten years with a show at winning the big ten, I'll take it. Might take a decade to get to that point, but whatever.
