Oddly enough in such a busy neighborhood Worth can be relatively quite. I think if this had fell on any other block you would of seen a lot more injuries/deaths.
One time, sitting at a red light in midtown back in 88' - summertime, driving one of those pie-wagon's with the sliding doors open - construction site to our right. A crane that was raising a dumpster dropped it - it had to have fallen a good 5 stories - well above our sightline in the truck, and went THROUGH the sidewalk (partially) right next to us with the loudest fucking sound I ever heard. KABAM! Scared the shit out of us and we sat there in bumper to bumper waiting for a crane or God know what to follow it on top of us! About 30 seconds later - here comes the winch. Worker comes over, hooks the mangled dumpster back up, and away it goes. Multiple people walking around holding their ears. Mine were ringing all morning after that.
It's a fun city. Ya never know WHAT is gonna happen.
Yeah, we prefer to leave the 'crane falling from the sky' scenarios
nothing funny about a crane falling and killing someone, but you have to laugh a little at the audio portion of that video. It won't make the evening news ...

Nah, it's the other way around - the crane fell and cracked a gas main, National Grid is on it's way now.
