NFT: MMA- CM Punk being a bit of a d$#k

WNS - Former WWE Superstar CM Punk was recently interviewed for Complex Magazine. He insulted the interviewer, refused to answer WWE questions, and left the interview.

When he’s asked if he is anxious or intimidated to make the transition from professional wrestling to UFC he answers…

“I get this question a lot, and it’s like you guys think I’m an idiot. Like I didn’t know MMA wasn’t pre-determined or something like that,” says Punk. “Have you ever tweeted at me, ‘Hey, do you know what you’re getting into?’”

The interviewer, Kevin Wong Answers, “I never have.”

CM “Okay. It sounds like you might have.”

KW “I don’t mean to put you on the defensive…”

CM “I’m not on the defensive. Your question is insulting. You’re asking me if I know the difference between the WWE and the UFC?”

KW “That’s not what I’m asking.”

CM “That’s exactly what you’re asking.”

When he’s asked how he might respond to fans who question his motives for going into MMA, wonder if it is a publicity stunt, or wonder if he’s ever going to fight, he pushes back again. Now, he’s no longer smiling. “You say my fans say that? You’re mistaken. My fans do not say that. I wouldn’t say anything to them [my critics]. I don’t justify stupidity with an answer. I don’t give a shit what anybody thinks of me, whether I’m going to fight or not. I know what I’m going to do.”

When CM Punk was asked questions about the WWE.. “I don’t feel like fielding questions about it [WWE],” says Punk. “I’ve been there, I’ve done that, and I’ve accomplished everything I was going to.”

The interview was abruptly ended and Wong was eventually escorted away from CM Punk and told that he never wants to talk to him again.

apparently the guy is paranoid as ever. Many in the MMA circuit are pretty much fed up with him and have quoted on saying "he's gonna come in, get his ass whooped and leave"

I have been a

big fan of punk ever since he first started in ROH .He was actually a really cool guy but the last few years he seems to have become a dick .Still wish he was in wwe .
CM Punk was great when he was battling the system

Fans loved his shoots on Vince and HHH. Not to mention he was one of the better performers in the ring at that time.

Ever since he left the WWE, it seems he's been too paranoid about the entire business. From my point of view, I think Punk has serious doubts about fighting MMA. If he's not successful right off the bat, that will hurt his chances there. Which is why we still haven't see him commit to his first fight yet.
Though, to be fair to him

He is not off schedule at all from what his trainer said when he first started training. His trainer said in more than one interview he wants him to have 12-14 months of training before fighting. He started in January 2015, and from September 2015-early December 2015 he was out with a partially torn shoulder. So he missed 3 months. He has not had that 12-14 months his trainer wants. I kind of don't understand why people are ignoring that fact when thinking he's taking too long. The trainer made it pretty clear it's 12-14 months and nothing less.
He's going to get crushed and he knows it.

CM actually stated that very same timeframe of 12-14 months in an interview with Opie and Jimmy on Sirrus radio. I think its smart on his part.
I really liked him a lot as a wrestler

but he does get annoying with his interviews regarding MMA. If he knew what he was getting into with the MMA like he said he does, he should know that everyone is going to bust his balls about it until he goes out there, fights and proves them wrong. Is he still scheduled to have his first match in June/July or whatever it is? I don't follow MMA too closely but I thought there was a rumor they wanted him at UFC 200.
Pro wrestler helps hype up nothing

He would do it under his own name, and not CM Punk. He's 37 years old. He's gonna get crushed.

He's not Brock Lesnar.
He should have stayed in the WWE

They could use him.
He's been a complete dickhead

For at least 5 years.

The UFC is real big on fan/fighter interaction. They want the fighters to sign autographs. CM Punk has always been a dick to fans.

This. I hated his persona in the WWE. I thought he was an overrated wrestler to begin with. But he has always been a tool bag of the highest proportion.
CM Punk once said

Vince McMahon told him he was more difficult to deal with than HBK on drugs. At a convention Paige told the story of how AJ Lee told her Stephanie once said AJ Lee is moodier than a woman with PMS. May god help their future offspring's teachers.
He's going to get killed if they put him in

With any legit UFC level fighter. Is what it is. He's too old to waltz into MMA w no training. And 12-14 months is fine. For a young amateur who will grind his way up he ladder He's on he wrong side of 35 with zero real martial arts or even a wrestling background.

He can train for another year or even two and the result won't change much IMO . At MW he'd be lucky to last a minute w even guys form lower tier promotions. Doubt he can cut to 170 and even if he could he's still going to get his ass kicked unless they find a total can willing to take a dive
