Goodell wants a rule where if a player is flagged twice in a game for a personal foul they will be thrown out. It will be called the Odell Beckham Jr rule!!!
Had three against us. Burfict had a few games in his career with multiple personal fouls and Im sure there are more I do not know of from this year. I dont think one incident lead to the rule proposal.
It gives the refs too much power and unless you allow review, creates more judgement we just don't need, especially with a players ability to remain on the field in play. I would support a rule ejecting a player after three personal fouls, I think.
I don't mind the rule as long as it only relates to dead ball fouls and egregious helmet to helmet hits. I think college has gone too far with their targeting rules, but I wouldn't mind ejecting players for blatant helmet-to-helmet hits and the like either. As long as things like facemasks, hands to the face, and other things that are just a part of the game and not dirty don't count, I don't see the issue here.

that is better taken care of with a 'point of emphasis' than with a hard rule. Encourage officials to toss guys who have made it clear that they can't keep their shit under control.
Putting a hard count on it encourages baiting, and might even discourage officials from tossing a guy for an especially grievous offense, because it was only 1 flag.

The NFL rule book is taking over the game, making officiating more and more difficult. How is it not obvious that better training of the referees on when and how to control an out of control situation is the most logical way to go here. Park Avenue could have a direct line to the head referees headset, or earpiece, and they can send a message: "hey, things are getting ugly out there, do something about it." But lets make some more rules instead mandating ejection, instead of placing the onus on the officials to know when shit is getting out of hand and to do something about it, including ejecting people if necessary.

Exactly. They don't need more rules, they need refs who aren't afraid to take command of situations like that
This is another way for the officials to control the outcome of games.
I know they have said different publicly, but it was impactful that he was not benched until under control.
