Newark NJ Native; PFF's new site ranked him the 14th LB in 2015, ahead of Bruce Irvin, Ray Maualaga, Bernadick McKinney, Shaq Thompson, Jordan Hicks. Young guy, doesn't turn 26 until april. Timed well at the combine (4.65 40, 37 VJ, 4.17 SS) . Supposedly good in coverage. Nephew of former Saints DE Willie Whitehead. I think he could be a very good under the radar addition.
Whitehead would be an infinitely better signing, for instance. I reckon the LB's remain largely the same, however. Although I see them *gasp* drafting one.
I'm not saying he's the cream of the crop, but I'm looking at this realistically. Giants need two CB's, a starting FS, a MLB, another starting DT, and two starting DE's. Irvin is not a starting DE and they have a similar player in Kennard who is four years younger (Irvin will be 29 next season). I like Kennard's potential, the only Giants LB I have that for, and I don't see Giants giving up on him early.
Sounds like this one could make some sense.
