We won't get the immediate "oh my that was a top 5 super bowl" discussion tomorrow as seems to happen on an almost annual basis for about 8 years now (other than 2 years ago)
That was one of the most forgettable super bowls i can recall. Sloppily played (6 total turnovers, missed FG, missed throws) and not a single big offensive play, with the only semi-memorable play being the strip sack TD which most will likely forget in a few years.
Glad Carolina lost and Von Miller was a beast...but over the course of the last 25 years, this is certainly bottom 5 to me.
I agree. The only real downside was all the penalties. Some great defense on display.
you can have good defense and have an exciting game. i just didn't see it here. this i think bordered more on sloppy.
XLII was 7-3 going into the 4th and that game (homerism aside) just felt about 10 notches more intense with excellent defense and no scoring. just one example.
to each their own i suppose, but 6 turnovers and several missed passes and penalties etc didn't generate much excitement to me.
its a fair point. all depends on the context of the turnovers i guess.
The penalties sucked, but the turnovers were a result of good plays by the defense rather than either team being careless with the ball.
