That play permanently altered the game.
I was shocked it was a non-catch because the ball IS allowed to touch the ground, but the ground cannot aid you in gaining possession.
It gave DEN a 2 score lead and allowed them to protect Manning even more and sapped a lot/any momentum out of CAR at the time.
Not even remotely. Did you miss the rest of the game?
But it was a worthwhile challenge, could have gone either way.
That this bum is still in the league is amazing. Curious how Cam will do when their #1 WR comes back next year.
Looked like Cotchery went right over to Rivera and Rivera tossed the red flag on Cotchery's word. After the replay, I wasn't convinced either way but the guest referee and Simms both said it never touched ( although Simms described several other plays in his own words that never actually happened like he said). I thought it was worth a shot.

Didn't Denver score a TD the next play on the fumble recovery in the end zone? Had that been a catch, I doubt the TD happens.
But you never know. Von Miller may have ripped Cam's arm off and carried the ball into the end zone in his mouth the play after a completed pass.
The nose of the ball touches the ground causing the receiver to lose control.
It doesn't matter what happens after that. If he didn't have possession before the ball hit the ground, it is an incomplete pass.
That being said, the analysts are saying it didn't hit the ground. I am obviously either seeing what I want to see, or I have terrible sight.
If you wanna pinpoint a play that really was gamechanging, this was definitely one of them.
Ward really fucked that play up on so many levels
Panthers' relative youth was too much to overcome.
