Beast Mode retired??

BlueGuy : 2/8/2016 12:06 am
Marshawn Lynch tweeted out a very cryptic picture of his cleats hanging on a powerline with a peace sign emoji underneath. Typical Beast Mode. Not a lot of talking.

"I'm bout that action, Boss."

If this is true, I want to thank you for just being yourself and flat out, one of the best RBs of this generation.

Dude was a straight baller. I can't help of thinking of Sid Vicious' My Way cover. Got his paper. Retired on his terms.

BeastQuake and BeastQuake 2.0 might be my favorite RB plays of all time.

And if they don't like, fuck 'em.
Not surprising

That he does this the night of the SuperBowl, ya know, where the attention is actually on someone else for a change.

Eh..
Dave in Hoboken : 2/8/2016 12:16 am : link
Doesn't seem like an appropriate thing to do on SB night. Let the two teams in the game have the attention that they deserve.
that's the news that has been scrolling down below

No. That's exactly when you should do it. No press. No BS.

Well done.
What are

You talking about?? Its going to be one of the bigger stories tomorrow. Doing it the night of the Superbowl just shows how much he craves attention. He is stealing somebody elses thunder.

And even if he did it to stay under the radar, its a very, very selfish act to make a story about yourself on a night it ahould be anout somebody else just because you dont like the media.

Either way he is an asshole for doing it this evening. Good player, bad person. I for one, am not sad to see him go. Later bro.

Agree with all except for the ending. He was a great back and a very very fun place to watch.
What if he picked SB day
Montreal Man : 2/8/2016 6:16 am : link
thinking it the best time to be sure his story was seen by as many fans as possible without him having to make more public announcements, which he hates. Not that it was a good move, but I've no reason to question his motive here.

It's not like he actually announced it. He put out a cryptic message to leave people guessing.
It's an attention grab from a guy who says he doesn't like attention
I'll believe it when I see it
Cruzin : 2/8/2016 7:01 am : link

He's got several business interests where the publicity from shunning the publicity is very profitable. He also stands to give up potentially 14 million if he retires now.

He's about to get paid 9 mil for next year and would possibly owe Seattle 5 mil if he walks.

Even if Seattle doesn't go after the 5 million ( as a loyalty parting gift?) doubtful but possible, he's still walking away from 9 million dollars for playing 16 football games, I don't see that happening.
I just read that he has every penny of the roughly ....
Crispino : 2/8/2016 8:02 am : link
$27(?)million he has made in bonus and salaries. He's also a guy who has been involved in more than his share of violent collisions, even by NFL standards. Smart move on his part.
Seahawks confirm Lynch's retirement...
Mike in St. Louis : 2/8/2016 9:13 am : link
"The Seahawks official twitter account confirmed Marshawn Lynch is retiring.

Lynch posted a tweet with a "deuces" emoji and a picture of his green cleats hanging on a telephone wire during the fourth quarter of the Super Bowl. The Seahawks official account quoted the tweet and added the hashtag #ThankYouBeastMode. The timing and cryptic nature of the announcement is a fitting end to the spectacular career of one of the game's most enigmatic stars. Lynch finishes his career with 11,091 total yards and 83 total touchdowns across 127 NFL games and ranks 36th on the All-Time rushing list. Though the stats are not overly impressive, Lynch was one of the most dominant backs in the game for the early part of this decade and made his mark with several memorable performances. The most iconic of which was his 67-yard touchdown run to clinch an upset Wild Card win against the Saints in 2011. Lynch was a First-Team All-Pro in 2012 and won a Super Bowl with the Seahawks in 2013.

If that were the case, which I dont think it is, I would argue that it is a very selfish act. He is stealing someone elses thunder on the biggest night of their career. He also didn't make a public announcement and doesn't need to. There is No reason why an instagram post on Wednesday would not reach all his and NFL fans. It may take a bit longer, but what is the rush??

This is the equivalent of Alex Rodriguez announcing that he was opting
