superspynyg : 2/9/2016 3:37 pm
Score mobile reported.

Prayers to get well to him and his family.

I met him once. Real nice guy.
He always seemed like a good guy

Best wishes to him. Fortunately, the prognosis is typically good with prostate cancer from what I understand.
He's often referred to as one of the good guys in the game

That sucks :(

Hope he beats it.
He grew up a Giants fan.
BrettNYG10 : 2/9/2016 3:41 pm : link
Seems like a good guy. Hopefully has a full recovery.
His cancer
HoustonGiant : 2/9/2016 3:48 pm : link

Hopefully and likely

Umm, Giantology...Blank himself said the cancer was treatable. I think you misunderstood HoustonGiant and jumped his ass for nothing.

Suppose I did then

My apologies if that was all you meant, HoustonGiant
He seems like (and from all accounts is) an amazingly genuine
NYGmen58 : 2/9/2016 4:57 pm : link
guy, as a businessman, owner, and person.

I hope he pulls through this, the NFL and world needs more people like Arthur Blank.

WTF else would he mean? Most prostate cancer is very treatable. Some moves so slow (especially in the elderly) that chances are you will die of something else first. ( I know this because they said that to my old man and the Doc was right.) Some is very aggressive. Sounds like Mr. Blank has the slow kind. Good for him.
Most men die WITH

prostate cancer. Very few die OF prostate cancer.
In most cases,

highly treatable
My dad was diagnosed with it over 20 years ago

He"s now 89 and still going strong. Early detection is everything.

Best wishes to Art for a speedy recovery.
I got diagnosed
RinR : 2/9/2016 6:54 pm : link
with it in Dec 2015. Had it removed in April 2016; cancer free since.

There were other treatment options available to me but I chose surgery given my age, my health, the very early diagnosis and life expectancy. Many things to factor in when deciding what to do about it.

same.
Of course I had my years wrong

Dec 2014 and Apr 2015
My urologist told me that in Europe

they do watch and wait for the most part, especially at moderate Gleeson scores. At my score, I was told that the data was a risk of 20% over the next 20 years which apparently is low risk. To me, 1 in 5 is not all that low a risk. If you're 70, then something happening in 20 years is worth waiting but when you're 50? Plus with a biopsy or two every year or so?
I was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2013 at age 61.
Del Shofner : 2/10/2016 11:31 am : link
I'm fine now, my PSA is basically zero and I don't have any lingering consequences (except that I shouldn't drink two cups of coffee before going into a meeting).

Cancer sucks, but they have prostate down so long as it's caught soon enough, which mine was. At the same time, a much younger buddy of mine died of ocular cancer, which is very rare and as to which the docs have no clue.
