ESPN: Offseason predictions for all 32 NFL teams
"New York Giants: The Giants will be major players in free agency. Or at least they'll try to be. They may not be as appealing a destination as they used to be, but they will try to spend their nearly $60 million in cap room to upgrade their defense by playing at the top of the safety and pass-rusher market. Expect to hear them associated with safety Eric Berry if he makes it to the market and defensive end Olivier Vernon, whether they re-sign Jason Pierre-Paul or not. They may not be able to get their top targets, but the Giants know they need at least a half-dozen new starters on defense. -- Dan Graziano"

But he's right. Money being equal, what appeal is there coming to NY? To get a sideline pass to the Beckham Show? Chances are pretty good 2016 isn't going to be a playoff year and there is uncertainty on the GM going forward.
Give me a fucking break - as opposed to the other teams

with salary cap money? You think the Patriots are going to be big players?

Or how about the fact that it's the media capital of the world, and that endorsements would get them more money here than anywhere else.

That's the worst line since everyone proposed we'd have to pay an asshole tax for Coughlin.
meh..

at this point, it would not surprise me if Victor Cruz never started another game in the NFL. It wouldn't surprise me if he did either. On his side he has hard work and dedication, but he's reached the life expectancy of an average NFL player.

We have hope, we have reality, the latter usually wins.

Take it up with Graziano. You don't think the perception of this franchise is different than it was maybe 3 years ago? When Prince openly says he would prefer to go to a winning culture, you don't think players and agents hear that?
They absolutely hear it - they hear 'hey, there's another team
jcn56 : 2/10/2016 9:16 am : link
looking for a CB - my value just went up!'.

Players sign where the money is. "All things being equal", take a look at the list of the teams with the greatest cap space, and then ask yourself why we'd be at the bottom in an 'all things being equal' contest.

These guys are businessmen, they're looking to get paid. The nice thing about NYC is that it's built for people looking to get paid. When NYC teams lose out, it's typically because players can't handle the spotlight.
