We are better than this

Sly Guy : 2/10/2016 12:42 pm
I am disheartened to see some people today cheering when players are released. Cheering when someone loses their job is a terrible thing to do; it's even worse when guys like Beason, Beatty and Schwartz are released because they got injured on the job.

Saying that they make more than us isn't a valid excuse to be a douche. They may deserve to be cut but we as fans should still treat them as human beings who suited up and played for the team that we loved. Once a Giant, always a Giant.

Your social life is not too strong with the amount of time you spend on this site.........it's kind of sad. Goodbye
Sad beta males attack! LMAO

Thank you all for showing how pathetically thin skinned you are when someone disagrees.

Goodbye you winners!
Take it from an alpha male

If you're running around on the Internet telling everyone how tough they are and that they're betas, you're a beta.
My social life is fine, I appreciate the concern

Your social life must be in shambles to create a dupe only to act like a confrontational ass.
Agree with the OP

I want the Giants to find better football players than these guys too, but doesn't mean I don't appreciate the fact they wore the Giants blue. Not a fan of bashing players on the way out
It's embarrassing and shows Newton-like class

Especially when guys helped win a SB.

I think that's entirely possible, since it's probably the same 2 or 3 assholes running all the troll handles
I'm fine with the

posts. This is an NY Giants message board. None of us know these players personally and I think it's understood that the comments/posts are relating to these guys as "players" not "people."

I had the same happy reaction as many other posters in seeing these cuts today and don't see a good reason why those posters shouldn't be able to share their happy reaction to the cuts on a Giants message board.
As much as I feel this is the correct direction

the Giants should be going, I by no means want to flame over this. I am not a "Hooray for me and fuck you kind of guy" who likes to celebrate at the expense of someone's loss. Yes, they were not productive and pretty much dead weight for the team, and I was wanting to let these guys go, but I understand in real life what it means to let go of people and to have been let go. It's not fun on either side. I don't think the Giants organization celebrates the firing/releasing of their employees. Do you think they are "Beta males"?

Newton like class. That's a good one.
One thing also....
ThatLimerickGuy : 2/10/2016 3:13 pm : link
You do realize that all 3 of these guys will receive the remaining pro-rated portion of their signing bonus (except Beason who retired I believe).

Don't feel bad for Beatty and Schwartz either those guys are going to continue their NFL careers. It sucks that both aren't right for the Giants anymore but someone is going to pick up an average - above average tackle this offseason.
I don't pity them
AP in Halfmoon : 2/10/2016 3:58 pm : link
But I'm not celebrating their firing
3 years of under performing will do this.
giantgiantfan : 2/10/2016 4:03 pm : link
Beatty should get an appreciation thread, he anchored the left side during a SB run. The other guys? Good dudes for sure, but they were always injured, tough to root for them.
When we all discuss

who we want to draft and who we want in FA, we are also talking about deleting some of our guys. The roster doesn't grow. it stays at 53. So when the team cuts players and creates more cap space, fans are excited because there is more room to reseign/ sign FA's and at the same time, not have to worry about injury prone players we have been dealing with. No one is happy about people losing jobs. They are only excited from the teams standpoint of making necessary moves as most fans are losing faith in this front office.
I'm proud to say

I did not post any joy about some injured players getting released. I actually made a comment saying I was a little surprised the Giants cut Beatty. I thought they would have to keep him despite his high price tag and the fact that would no longer be playing LT. I thought he would remain on the team. I was wrong.
unfortunately the NFL is an entertainment product

with the best of the best, age forces you out and the college ranks are producing guys with such talent that as you play in the NFL a few years you are heading down the has been path. Look at Cruz, enter ODell, Cruz is a has been. If you want job security find another line of work, and be thankful that you had a shot in the league and made great money. Most of these guys are still immature young adults at age 30, they have their whole f'ing life in front of them, so let's spare the tears and concern. There are folks living to survive out there so stop it.
