Should be ok with guys like Reynolds and Jerry as backups. One big thing they will need is a solid swing tackle off the bench - that's really screwed them over the last few years and it's needed with the amount of injuries Flowers experienced last year. I guess a solid guard could be enough as Pugh could slide into those positions as well.
I'm not sold on Hart but if they sign a veteran FA, they can mask his weaknesses while allowing him to compete and grow into the role.
it also emphasizes the need for a two-way TE on the team - someone that can help support that week right side of the line. I don't think Donnell or Tye will be ready in that aspect by next season although they're both intriguing.
I just hope they get PHYSICAL players.
Enough with soft tackles like Will Beatty who couldn't get any push at the point of attack, I couldn't be happier with these cuts.
Coughlin wanted to do this earlier and Reese wouldn't? How are we supposed to know any of that? So because Reese makes cuts that make sense now we are to believe this was his wish all along and Coughlin was the person against it. I thought it was Reese who has the final decision. So if he ever wanted to do anything he thought was best for the team he needs no approval, so I think your theory is not at all correct. The fact is that these players needed to be cut, and there may be more.
in the first 2 rounds of the draft. There are 6-7 OTs in this draft that can be day 1 starters. Tunsil (not likely to drop to us), Stanley (possible), and then Conklin, Decker, Spriggs, and Hawkins would all be excellent fits at RT as possibly 2nd round picks, or 1st round picks with a trade down.
about Conklin from MSU - saying he doesn't necessarily fit every measurable but is tough as nails, and was beating down the OSU defensive line late in the game in which MSU won. He's a Giants type player. Would love for them to get another nasty lineman in the Richburg mold.
that we didn't need any cap space at this time. But it's clear that McAdoo has a vision for this team and Solari a vision for the OL, and neither Beatty nor Schwartz fit that.
Reese will probably go after a guard or tackle in FA.
I'm guessing around $16-$18 million per for both Glenn and Osemele which is a lot but the OL would be set for quite some time.
Ravens are expected to let Osemele check the market at least and Bills are tight against the cap last I checked.
1- Flowers, Pugh, Richburg, Hart, Schwartz
2- Glenn, Pugh, Richburg, Hart, Flowers

I hear Manziel has a good punch move...
Quote:
can trade Nassib for Manziel and he can play OLine?

And Pugh is the right guy to mentor him since he's switching from QB and not learning directly from Eli.

Guard: Pugh
Center: Richburg
That's all we have worth a shit! The rest need to be replaced!
I'd like this but one injury to any of those guys and we are screwed.
I'm thinking...
Draft Pick-Pugh-Richburg-FA-Flowers
Well played
Ronnie Stanley(1st)-Pugh-Richburg-Vadal Alexander(2nd)-Flowers
Beatty's release indicates the team is content with Flowers at LT.
Flowers (22) - Pugh (26) - Richburg (25) - Hart (22) - Mitchell Schwartz (27)
It'd be the best line we've had on paper since at least 2010.
