A few tidbits:
The article states that Glen Frey co- wrote the song "Take it Easy" with Browne which is technically true although Browne was stuck on the lyrics and Frey added the two lines "It's a girl my Lord in a flatbed Ford, turnin' 'round to take a look at me" to acquire the credit.
It also says Browne and Frey were roommates, that is not true, Frey and Bernie Leadon were roommates, Browne lived underneath them in a separate apartment. Browne would play the same verse over and over for days at a time driving Leadon crazy but Frey says that's how he learned to write songs.
Randy Meisner, an original Eagle will not be there but he is not dead as reported on the internet this past Tuesday. It was a hoax. Meisner was replaced by Timothy B Schmidt in 1977 when he suffered anxiety and was no longer able to hit the high notes in live performances on "Take it to the Limit" on which he sang lead.

Glen Frey comes across as a little bit of a dick, but he also seems to know he can be dickish, and he seems pretty honest, so you like the guy despite the dickishness.

They were all dicks. Henley is a legendary asshole...
Henley is legendary, Don Felder was a dick also but Frey, Leadon, Meisier and later on Joe Walsh and Schmidt weren't known as assholes.
I think what makes Frey look like a dick was his disdain for Don Felder after Felder disrespected a politician at a fundraiser sponsored by Frey. Later that night they were on stage and as the legend goes after every song Frey would count down the remaining songs until he was going to kick Felder's ass. The show ended, they went at it, security broke it up and not long after that Felder left the band.
The tension started earlier on in 1974 when Felder joined the band, Henley wanted to go more rock and Leadon and Frey wanted to stay more country. Fielder was rock and actually wrote the music to the song "Hotel California" but Leadon quit because of the harder rock style thus Joe Walsh was brought in. Frey, being loyal to Leadon, resented Felder and it just came to a boil after the fund raising incident.
People say Frey was the nicest and funniest guy of the bunch, Walsh was fun and always wasted, Schmidt was just happy to be there.
