What's the story with this guy ? He played 14 Games in each of the last two years and only 7 games three years ago after playing in all 16 games as a rookie for the Ravens
That had me a bit concerned, but from what little I've seen of him (mostly at guard) he seemed pretty solid. Would imagine there's going to be a bidding war for his services, though.
Ravens fans speak highly of him for the most part (and they can be pretty critical.). I think they want to re-sign him but history has shown that they won't go crazy contract-wise to keep their own players.
RE: RE: He's the kind of lineman the Giants like Â
section -- I've been reading about him -- he had knee issues last year from the Ravens Monday Night football game -- and ended up only missing two games and playing through it -- he played both at guard last year and at Left Tackle in place of Eugene Monroe - and accorded himself well
He definitely would help our Right side if he's a gamer
I can’t help but salivate every time I read a scouting reporting of Osemele. Dude is an animal. Reminds me a lot of Carl Nicks (now with the Bucs) in terms of sides and ability to finish his blocks. He played all over the line in college, including left tackle. I see Osemele being our RT or LG for the next 10 years. The only reason I would project him more towards RT is we ask our LG to pull a ton, and pulling is probably Osemele’s only weakness.
I just wonder what new HC and new OL coach means Â
to cost major $$$, but should be cheaper than Cordy Glenn, and we just cleared about $12M in cap space. The problem is that other teams have a lot more cap space. It could be a situation where we make a very competitive offer, and are simply outbid.

Actually wrote that as a joke as per BBI..
It actually would be the back, not the knee so much that I'd be suspicious of..

Only the Jaguars and Raiders have more money (granted, quite a bit more). If we identify two top tier FA, I don't see how we'd have a problem being competitive. http://www.spotrac.com/nfl/cap/ - ( New Window )

"Watching the offensive tackle play during the postseason only strengthened my belief that pending free agent Kelechi Osemele will exceed the Ravens’ price range. I saw five or six playoff teams over the past month that would benefit from having Osemele, and there are countless other teams that didn’t make the playoffs that need offensive line help."
So the good news is that Osemele may well be available because the Ravens won't pay him. But there's going to be lot of competition, which means not only money but that he may have a strong opinion about where he wants to play. And he's played on the left side since the 2012 playoff run. And he raised his price at the end of 2015 by showing he could handle left tackle.
May come down to whether Giants want to shift Flowers. Link - ( New Window )
Is not going to sign for anything less than 10 mil annual plus the signing bonus we need help on the line but one player will not solve all the problems. It's important that we sign some free agents but we can't expect to outbid everyone for just one player. IMO just because we have 50 mil does not mean spending it all will turn this team into a contender. Buyer must beware of ever FA because history has proven it's a market for the players and a killer for the teams mostly.
I just love the fact that so many of us wanted to draft glenn Â
Osemele is a very good player but he's going to be expensive and he's got a spotty injury track record. A lot of solid guards out there too. Alex Boone, Jeff Allen, Brandon Brooks. I really like JR Sweezy on Seattle also.
Osemele was on the Giants' shortlist in the draft Â
Uh, guys - he's a pretty big name. For an OL, at least.
Jcn, I know him well and remember Lukes et al talking him up some years ago..I thought my comment was self explanatory..There are some idiots on here who will negatively judge a player because they haven't heard the name much, if at all..
Kudos! Does that crystal ball have any other useful predictions aside from knowing that both Wilson and Beatty would suffer multiple injuries as Giants?

Had no idea Wilson or Beatty would have injuries yet didn't feel I needed a crystal ball to recognize the Giants OL was desperate if the wheels fell off any starter. Wanted Osemele and Marcus Cannon. Wanted ej gaines two years ago
This year, I want Billings #1 and hope Dodds falls to #2
Osemele is on the Torrag free agent watch list... Â
...but most reliable quality players are. There are a number of starting caliber free agent combinations the Giants can acquire. The individual negotiations will determine which ones we actually sign...but I'm more convinced than ever of the following:
*This will be 2005 revisited. Expect the Giants to acquire 3 or more coveted starters on the open market.
*Prince is gone. The teams tack with injured players is clear. You don't play you don't stay. This move will require signing a starting boundary CB early in free agency. Finding a slot CB is also a lesser priority(could come on draft day).
and has the injury pedigree we crave...

I wanted him BAD in 2012.

He's going to command big bucks, so my guess is, if they end up signing him, it will be at RT.

Yeah, liked him then also.
