The whole kryptonite thing I thought was put aside when in Man Of Steel Supes flew directly into that world engine that was turning the earth into krypton... so to me you can't use kryptonite as a weakness anymore..
I thought the same thing during that film. And, the more I see this trailer, the more I think this film will suck. Plus, I just find Eisenberg annoying. He seems more suited to play Joker or Riddler than Luthor.
but the one highlight is that fight scene in the beginning. I can actually see what's going on and it does seem well choreographed.
That said, that's about all that looks good. Eisenberg looks and sounds downright terrible. He may be a worse casting than Affleck to be honest. The big picture action also looks like typical Snyder which isn't a good thing.
I may end up seeing it, but I have a feeling i'm going to laugh a whole lot.
and this is Superman... if he was to throw a punch at Batman it would be so fast batman would never see it no less block it . This movie is going to be horrific on so many levels.
Superman is always conveniently weak when it suits the story.. you can't have it both ways..
the overall theme of Batman vs. Superman is laughable. Dumbing down Superman and weakening him to make a plot is stupid. It can kinda of work in comics but it has no place on the big screen.
I give all movies a chance when I see them. But since there's a thread on it my initial reactions are that it looks terrible. Its no different than thinking it looks great.
and neither does the cast. Adams being a great actress is a throwaway given her character and they rest are a mess.
As a popcorn flick i'm sure it will have value. But as a stand alone movie in the grand scheme of comic book movies, it looks incredibly weak. Ant Man is a more compelling concept than Batman vs. Superman.
Not a DC fan, but that trailer was better than expected Â
Batman is an interesting character because he has no special powers, he's just a guy with toys scared of bats.
Superman is a pretty boring character, unless you mix in unstoppable villains, or kryptonite. Batman in a kryptonite-lined Iron Man suit could be interesting.
My problem with Lex is less to do with the hair than it is Eisenberg.
As for the Bat armor, I know it has been used before but in these trailers it really has an Iron Man vibe, and using it right out of the gate really feels like they are trying to catch the Iron Man wave.
It's because the premise is stupid. There would be no battle. Superman is an indestructible alien from another planet. Batman is a dude in a costume. That's why I never liked Superman, he is too super. No fun.
who knows nothing bout The Dark Knight Returns comic book cannot understand how Batman can be on the same footing as Superman. It's pointless to discuss because it's always going to sound ridiculous to them.
ALl I am going to say is go into this movie with an open mind and maybe you'll enjoy it instead of taking your preconceived notions in with you.

I know nothing about the Dark Knight Returns comic. Having said that, Superman could just pick up a skyscraper and throw it on top of Batman. Game over.

Ehh.. I see your point but he needs the armored suit in order to fight him and to make it seem somewhat realistic.
Here's a quote from Eisenberg on playing Lex
Quote:
The character has a core of reality," Eisenberg explained. "[Luthor] has a back story that's tragic and an emotional inner life that's authentic. That's in the movie. It was my interest in playing the character with a real emotional core, and this writer, Chris Terrio's interest in creating a character that seemed viable in reality.
In the film, Luthor becomes the physical catalyst for the epic battle between Superman and Batman. He's the little "v" between Batman and Superman. He's particularly worried about Superman's powers — apparently Luthor isn't keen on letting an omnipotent alien gain access to whatever he wants. That and a heaping messiah complex.
To call him self-aggrandizing is to say that the Titanic was a sailboat," Eisenberg said. "He is a narcissist of the first order but complicated in that way as well in that he is terribly troubled and competitive and vengeful. He looks at Superman not as somebody to destroy but as genuine threat to humanity.
The only difference between this movie and everything else I've ever been in is this has an audience that has prior expectations, and that's the only thing that I find disconcerting because it feels like some people are occasionally ready to get angry at me for the part they haven't seen me play yet. It's bewildering.

I know nothing about the Dark Knight Returns comic. Having said that, Superman could just pick up a skyscraper and throw it on top of Batman. Game over.
In theory, yeah, but Superman doesn't kill things, ever, and neither does Batman. Sure, Superman could kill Batman 1800 different ways, but that's not supposed to happen.
There was an uproar in Man of Steel that Superman was written to kill Zod. It was wildly out of character.
Face it, no one stands a chance against Superman as he was originally envisioned, which is why comics had to come up with ways to weaken him or other plot devices to level the playing field. An invincible Superman is just no fun.
DC and Marvel are on two different levels when it comes to movies. Hopefully this is a good step in the right direction for DC.
because he was pitted against otherworldly beings. Give me Superman vs. Thor and I may be interested. The whole movie I'm going to be yelling at the screen, this is stupid! Give it up Batman!
I was against anybody using Joker for a while because I didn't think they could live up to Ledger. With that said I think Leto's Joker looks awesome. To me he seems to really fit the Suicide Squad movie. Looking forward to him & Harley Quinn.
made so many mistakes with the casting of this film then followed it up by releasing trailers that gave away the plot of the movie the whole thing will be a disaster. They should have casted Bryan Cranston as Luther as the majority of the community wanted. Then should have just showed the lead up to the two meeting face to face and left the audience intrigue how it would proceed while leaving out Wonder Women and Doomsday for the actually movie experience

in the comic book, he couldnt... what is your point?
the same could have been said about when Thor fought Iron Man... Iron man should have been dead.
I really am not impressed with Affleck the actor Â
He's a pretty good director and can be good in a supporting role. With that said, I cringe a little watching him be Batman. I worry he's going to make it difficult to watch this movie. However, that trailer was pretty good, and I am intrigued. I want to watch this movie. Now the big question, is it theater worthy or should I wait for the blueray?
same with Thanos and all that garbage. The alien heros and villians just don't work outside of comic books and cartoon.
The only real exception for me is Guardians and that's mainly due to them nailing the different planets. Asgard looks terrible and isn't relate-able at all.

Iron Man vs. Superman would have been better also. The ability to fly combined with state of the art weaponry and strength of metal used. I dunno, seems like they would have to make Batman into Iron Man to be feasible.
The whole kryptonite thing I thought was put aside when in Man Of Steel Supes flew directly into that world engine that was turning the earth into krypton... so to me you can't use kryptonite as a weakness anymore..
plus I can't stand Ben Affleck.... ugh
That's why Man of Steel had so many flaws in it. The end of the movie was blasted in the comic community
recently of this movie and some people have broken their contracts and come forth with some information. So far, it has been given some pretty good positive feedback. We will see how it goes over the next month, but I have heard that this is expected to really change the mood about the DC universe.
You forget, Superman's greatest weakness is that he holds back. The reason the Bat can beat him is because he doesn't hold back except for the one thing (Killing).
Because Superman is constantly worried about what will happen if he uses his full strength it allows someone like Batman to actually put up a fight.
Imagine Quicksilver in X-Men: Days of Future Past, but fighting Batman. Batman would never stand a chance. And Quicksilver doesn't have all the other super powers as Superman. Kryptonite gloves? Kryptonite bullet? Superman would see that coming a mile away and would have counter measures in place in 1/100000000000000000th of a second.

Another reason why Man of Steel ruined Superman. In one movie they ruined the Kryptonite weakness and his reluctance to kill/affinity to save human lives. How do they get around those things if this is part of the same movie saga?
Imagine Quicksilver in X-Men: Days of Future Past, but fighting Batman. Batman would never stand a chance.
Right. That's why every conflict in The Flash seems like bullshit to me... at one moment he's shown retrieving a pizza from some place 10 miles away in about two seconds, and the next he's struggling to avoid being hit by some guy's gun or even his fist's.
Particularly that first fight scene. Even though I think it's kind of lame that Batman can suddenly kick a guy across the room as if he were Captain America now.
Luthor's fears are not unfounded. The threat of this near-invulnerable alien grinding the Earth under its heel is real. There are two things that stop this from happening-- their names are Clark and Bruce.
Clark is the Big S's upbringing-- all those good ol' fashioned midwestern values. Don't kill, don't steal, tell the truth, respect your elders, respect democracy, yay America, etc. This makes him a gentle soul, and a bit of a gullible hick.
And Bruce is Batman. And Batman's super-power is simple-- he always has an effective plan for every contingency. Including the "Superman Gone Bad" possibility. He can manipulate that gullible hick, exploit his known weaknesses, and humble the big S enough to get him to see things from the non-omnipotent point of view.
By far the best scene of Batman fighting of all time lol Â

Lex Luthor looks ridiculous and doesn't feel like Luthor at all.
Not a fan of the Batman/Iron man hybrid thing.
Didn't care for Man of Steel.
I'm in the minority here, but I'm not interested in Suicide Squad either. Can't get over that God awful Joker.
I can't see every movie so I tend to choose the ones that look the most interesting to me.
My question is, isn't the Batman versus Supe taken directly from Marvel?
Did the two duke it out in the comics?
Comic history has shown Lex with hair.. (He will be bald in the film)
I give all movies a chance when I see them. But since there's a thread on it my initial reactions are that it looks terrible. Its no different than thinking it looks great.
i think it looks like a comic book movie and looks like fun.
It's inspired by that storyline, but not a shot for shot retelling by any stretch. Sorta like the new star wars flick.
Lex Luthor looks ridiculous and doesn't feel like Luthor at all.

But this Batman looks awesome.
As cool as the Nolan movies were, the Batman itself wasn't very good.
Batman + his villains > Marvel > rest of DC
Always felt this way and it seems like DC is going all in on Batman + his villains.
Because Superman is constantly worried about what will happen if he uses his full strength it allows someone like Batman to actually put up a fight.
Deadpool tomorrow. Now that will be insane.
Speed kills.
Just look at the Eagles vs the Giants.
