NFT: ASB: Do the Warriors do it?

giantsfan44ab : 2/12/2016 3:42 pm
Do you think they break 72 wins?

My answer in short: Yes

Notable games left: 3 vs SA, 2 vs LAC, and 1 vs OKC

Even if they win half those games they have a 3 game cushion and face some pretty awful teams.

A lot of people are pointing to 3 remaining matchups vs SA, but leave out an important fact: 2 of those meetings are in the last 4 games of the season. And unless Pop breaks away from his ways (and assuming they are even in position to ruin GS's chase) he's not gonna be playing Duncan, Parker and Ginobili much, if at all.

I think they finish 2-3 games ahead of the record (74-8 or 75-7).
My answer in short: No

... Injuries

I mean thats always in play but based on how the seasons gone so far, I don't think injuries will deter the course much unless one of Klay, Steph, or Green get hurt.
Wont predict injury

if the big 3 stay healthy and they dont get ravaged in their depth, yes, they'll break 72. I think it's important to them.
yes

and then they lose to the Spurs in the WCF.
What's crazy is that none of the warriors
knicks3031 : 2/12/2016 4:01 pm : link
are even in the top 25 for MPG. I agree, I think they beat the record.

ala 2001 Seattle Mariners lol
Yes and they will repeat too

The Spurs are great. Even so, I find it difficult to see them or any other team in the NBA being able to beat the Warriors 4 out of 7 times. Injuries not considered of course.
Yes...

I havn't seen a team this dominant since the Bulls that won 72 games. It's even more incredible what they are doing with today's strict salary cap/lux tax and they didn't put the team together like Lebron's Miami team.

If they can keep the team together and stay healthy, they'll have a shot to have a real dynasty.

You know what? I'd actually be kind of cool with that.

Someone wins the title every year. No one except one team has 72+ wins in a season.
Yes, I think they get 72 + wins.
SanFranNowNCGiantsFan : 2/12/2016 4:31 pm : link
And roll to another title, provided no catastrophic injuries.

They're an all-time great team. And fun to watch too. I'm debating going to Atlanta to catch them out after the ASB.
I'm predicting 73-9
est1986 : 2/12/2016 5:26 pm : link
Or they tie at 72-10. If they rip off ten in a row after the ASG then book it!
I think they will do it....
dep026 : 2/12/2016 9:12 pm : link
but I am really hoping next year the Timberwolves make the leap next year. Their starting 5 is a top 5 team to watch. Rubio, Levine, Wiggins, Dieng, and Towns is just awesome to watch. They really dont have a bench, maybe Shabazz, but their first 5 is fun to watch. I cant believe they waited this long to sit prince and garnett.

With an upgrade in the bench, they could be a really, really good team in a few years.
I don't follow the TWolves well
santacruzom : 2/15/2016 1:53 pm : link
But my suspicion is that they'll be limited by their coaching staff and potentially their front office.

After decades of being an utter laughing stock -- bottom of the barrel, really -- The Warriors are really a unique, almost serendipitous blend of competence from top to bottom. From ownership to management to scouting to coaches to player to medical staff, they're in a really enviable spot.

I think that's true. Walton would also be a great candidate. Hell, even Mark Jackson. It's just unfortunate that a franchise like the T'Wolves is very unlikely to make the right hire.
