It's that simple. Not everyone can come into the NFL and succeed. There were questions about his motor during his draft evaluations. I likened him to Vernon Gholston at the time.
as a bust just yet. He wasn't an ideal fit for the 34. He's more of a traditional 43 DE.
Dolphins have salary cap issues and they'd like to retain some of their own guys. Claiming him off waivers locked them into the contract he had previously with the Jets. Had they not released him before March 9th they would've been on the hook for 7.8 million. Instead they free up 8 million in cap space.
Showed some promise early (10 sacks total first 2 seasons) but just couldn't put it together. Doesn't seem like he'd be a great fit, but wouldn't be opposed to kicking the tires if he doesn't get a FA deal.
RE: I don't think you know the definition of stalker either.
Would be our best signed DE if we signed him he does fit the 4-3 better but he is the kind of FA we need to give a shot. We are not going to have to offer starters money but sometimes a player just needs a chance in the right scheme to find himself. No one can say Coples does not have more talent than any signed DE on our present roster.
With incentives. If he is a 4-3 guy, seems like the kind of singing that Reese might do. Better than taking a flyer on an athlete in the 3rd round of the draft.

I'd be willing to give Coples a chance here.
So tempting though..Kid's only 25..But I kept citing Damontre Moore's age as well..:)
That's a great comparison!!
