but it goes downhill from there. I'm rooting for him to get assassinated and the show to end to be perfectly honest. Just too many ridiculous plots and at times horrendous overacting, Spacey included. May not be a popular opinion, however.
First time I watched...I loved season 1...thought season 2 wasn't as good. But now in re-watching, season 2 is better than I originally thought. It's grown on me. Haven't gotten through season 3 for a second time yet.
joyless. I did enjoy season 1, and season 2 was decent. But I agree with the consensus here, it really is hard to get through season 3. It's so unrealistic and I really don't believe even politicians behave that corruptly.
Is the setup for a great Season 4. They had to lay the ground work which I agree at times was hard to watch. I can not wait for season 4 as I believe they have the potential of to do what the 1st season was able to do.
the show and its premise needs a short lifespan to succeed and they want it pushed to the max its its their flagship show. I'm guessing this thing goes 5 or 6 season which would be a crime. How many people will be murdered while Frank keeps his position?
I want Claire to divorce Frank and watch him slowly unravel until he gets assassinated. This should be the last season.
original? Made in the 90's and doesn't have the production values but really enjoyed it at the time. Ian Richardson brought a diabolical humor to the role that Spacey can't match. Plus the whole back-stabbing stuff works better with the genteel British facade.
For me, the show jumped the shark when Claire and Frank had a three-way with the Secret Service guy. With all the bizarre misconduct of the Secret Service, its not implausible, but come on, did anyone really believe that would actually happen? And then he just goes back to being the number one SS agent guarding the President? I don't think so...
I understand that thru a friend who was an extra for season 4. Was there for the last day of filming and they gave Spacey a large ovation and thank you.

I hope that's true, it's means the final season has promise after all.
That being said, Season 3 was a huge disappointment. Hoping season 4 kicks it back no to high gear. The trailer looked great.

Still, I'll watch new season when its available.
