Old story. Still disgusting.
Article on it from a couple of weeks ago:
Quote:
But Manning needed to have the final word. In the book he co-wrote with his father, Archie, and a ghostwriter, Manning: A Father, His Sons, and a Football Legacy, though he described his actions as “inappropriate,” he felt Naughright should have laughed off the up-close display of his rump and should have viewed it as “Crude, maybe, but harmless.” Manning also felt the need to call her a “vulgar woman,” swore that he was actually mooning a fellow teammate, not Naughright, and said that all of this unpleasantness could have been avoided were it not for the destruction of male-only spaces.
........
As to the question of to whom Manning wanted to show his ass, Malcolm Saxon, a track and field athlete who was in the room during the incident, wrote a letter to Manning to say that no, he was not the intended moon-ee (as Manning had written in his book), imploring him to “maintain some dignity and admit to what happened… Your celebrity doesn’t mean you can treat folks that way… Do the right thing here.”
Naughright and Manning ended up agreeing to an out-of-court settlement in 2003 that included a confidentiality ban on both parties. “He felt it was his mistake, he tried to apologize and he was remorseful,” Archie Manning told the Associated Press of his son’s incident in 2003. “He got punished and he took his punishment.”
Manning, however, just couldn’t keep his mouth shut.
Two years later, Naughright again took Manning to court after he violated the terms of the agreement by babbling about the incident “on network television nationally in a documentary entitled ESPN Classic Sports Century: Peyton Manning.”
I appreciate the response but we are not talking about the same thing. I am aware that by the laws, his action is considered sexual assault as well as the comment I made about non-consensual sex of drunk people being rape by the book. My problem is that these terms have such a wide berth.
is from the perspective of the woman's attorney, whether true or not
Not really:

In other words, Judge Kornstein said that there is evidence to support the conclusion that Peyton Manning lied in his book about the incidents and knew that he was lying about the incidents.
I'm amazed he thought it was a good idea to write that in the book. Awful decision. Why in the world would he take shots at her after the settlement?
Hope to clear lingering whispers, really believe the thing was fabricated, was told by the editor or publisher to say something about it- could be a lot of reasons. Whatever, apparently not the wisest idea.
And if AP is Barilko, good- one of the few football posters that ever made any fucking sense around here.

Yeah you both worship Coughlin, he who can do no wrong.

But know I see why I haven't heard this before. Aside from the media and Madison Avenue burying it, instead of dealing with the story, a lot of people want to focus on the person who wrote the story. Meanwhile, Manning will probably scoop up some more endorsements.
The article itself about PM is damning to say the least Â
Its a story that paints PM in a bad light and it should be illuminated more. It appears to be based on the truth and its despicable how PM and Archie addressed it if true. What I don't get is why King attempts to correlate this with how Cam Newton caught shit for his actions after the SB. They are two different things that have no bearing on each other and attempting to use this as a means to claim Cam is being treated unfairly is absurd.
First and foremost is his ignoring the aspect that this is an age of instantaneous info vs a fledgling Internet back then. If PM had done this within the last few years this would most definitely have been covered, dissected and brought to light much more then how it was covered back then.
Secondly, the continuous clamoring that the reason why Cam has caught shit is due to his race is disingenuous to say the least. Cam brought this upon himself via the way he chose to handle his successes and failures. Cam has had quite a few endorsement deals, to the point that it is claimed by his own Agent that he is second behind PM for endorsement money, this despite the fact prior to this year the Panthers have not done all that much with Cam at QB. So if Cam's skin color is the reason behind the dislike of Cam, how does he rank #2 in endorsements? Not just #2 but right behind PM and ahead of Tom Brady, Eli, and just this year Drew Brees, all QBs that have accomplished much more then what Cam has.
These are two different issues. Nail Peyton for what he did, but don't sit here and attempt to apply some absurd correlation to two different issues because the writer has a desire to make it about race.
Just a shame you had to attack my little boy, the banning is far better than you deserve. So long scumbag, let us know how the view from 20,000 ft is someday.

Here we go with the banning nonsensical threats again. So far you have been firing nothing but blanks with regards to those threats. Why not give it a rest at this point because everyone is tired of this shit.
Supporting hh's attack on my son? Not like you at all montana.
I am not supporting anything, but you're the one that started the shit up in this thread and the banning threats by you are becoming silly to keep pulling. No need to ruin a thread with excellent discussion in it because you got a grudge going on
Well lets see, you have made the threat at least 4 times, and as per your M.O. you're 0-4. But you go on making them, it gets added to the long laugh list of your BBI resume.
You're jumping into something that has absolutely nothing to do with you. Unless you are defending HH you need to go harass someone else. Talk about distracting from the original post, that's on you.
How could you have a problem with this guy bringing it up? He should have been tossed off BBI the first time.
I didn't see what happened but what could it possibly be to reply like that and then follow up with It again? Isn't that fool like 60 years old? And he says shit like that? And wants to meet up to fight about it?

That's hilarious and sad.
Because this thread is dealing with something else completely. Rocky can make his own thread to fight with someone, this is a different subject and the grudge crap gets old in threads where a good discussion is going on.
HH said something wrong and when it happened i even stated that, but Rocky trolled him on here and he was silly enough to bite on it. Rocky really wants to address, man the fuck up and make a special thread for it, but he won't do that will he?

The ensuing #longread from Shaun King of the Daily News is at times hard to follow, as it attempts to summarize most of the 74 pages in chronological order. Also, King’s article displays a clear anti-Peyton bias, and more than a little melodrama. This #notaslongread item comes from the 74-page document itself, which has been published in full by the Daily News.
Before going any farther, it’s important to understand what the 74-page document is, and what it isn’t. The 74-page document is a piece of advocacy. The 74-page document is something that was written by the lawyers representing Jamie Ann Naughright in her defamation case against the Mannings. The 74-page document is, necessarily, one-sided.
The 74-page document is not objective. The 74-page document is not supposed to be objective. The 74-page document is not a court order or any other decision made by a neutral party. And, ultimately, the 74-page document is incomplete without comparing it to the corresponding “Facts of the Case” document submitted by the defendants in the case.
How could you have a problem with this guy bringing it up? He should have been tossed off BBI the first time.

Why you going to threaten me with it now? That one would be hilarious
Shaun King. I will not read another. Guy is a racist, period.
You want to defend Cam. Defend him. Don't pull the 4th grade argument that somebody else did worse. Yes, what Peyton did (twice) was wrong. WTF does that have to do with the current league MVP acting like a two year old and sulking.
I love Cam's enthusiasm. I disliked the excuses for not going after the fumble and then not answering questions after the game.

yes, I'm aware of that. Someday we shall meet in person and I will show you how it's really going to turn out.
Barilko - it's interesting that you feel the same way about this as a lot of us here feel about you - "disgusting by any standard"
BTW Barilko - aren't you banned from BBI -- have you sought permission to return under your assumed nom de plume?

Montana making a fool of himself
b in Alb siding with the fool in the hole
("Damn right I ordered the Code Red!") some people just aren't that bright.
Tell Kendrick I said "Hi"
Weird and very sad all at the same time
How stupid do you have to be? And anyone defending Headhunter's position on this ought to be ashamed of themselves.
I like Headhunter a lot, but his post is indefensible. And he did it TWICE.
