NFL DRaft Report's Analysis-Miami DE Olivier Vernon

nflscouting : 2/13/2016 3:16 pm
For those interested in who we feel is the most underrated Defensive end on the free agent market and a perfect fit for Big Blue, here is a link to my story on Miami's Olivier Vernon when he was coming out of college;

Vernon, Ayers, and a first round DE can get this team back on the right track very quickly. What they will do at LB/S/CB I have no idea.
Considering he really didn't play a ton in college

This is a glowing report.

How about one on Quinton Coples? He maybe a lot cheaper and seems to have been playing out of position. A move back to 4-3 DE could be a big difference in production.
I'd LOVE

for them to take a flyer on Coples.

Quinton is from Eastern NC where I reside,hes hoping for a comeback the Dolphins recently cut him.He is S-L-O-W and had some attitude issues on the Jets plane that helped speed up his being released
Coples

Would be fine if he's brought in to compete for a roster spot.

Vernon's size is a little questionable and he's played opposite Wake this entire time. I do think they will address this FA frenzy with two DE's, and add one in the Draft, too.
I didn't think Vernon played the run that well.....

If JPP can get some grip back in his injured hand, you'd have to consider bringing him and Ayers back. Ayers was very effective rushing the passer with JPP there. Vernon would help, but I wouldn't mind having all three on board.
