gets away with on the sidelines. Venturing onto the court, screaming at officials, his foul mouth. Every other coach in the country is T'd up instantly. Especially in that high school gym.
Big win for Duke after beating Louisville with UNC coming up. Notre Dame offense starting to heat up beating UNC and Clemson.
Gonna be tough to duplicate the Irish run from last year, shoulda had a better draw after winning the ACC. Still just missed the final 4, painful but still satisfying.
The final blown call was no worse than Dook going to the line
On something like 6 of their last 8 possessions prior to it. Refs let both teams play for 30 minutes and then put the clamps on one team in the last ten.
... that should have sent his punk ass to the locker room for the day. MD is getting owned. The whole is much less than the sum of the parts. Offense has been weak just about all season. Middle-of-the-road Big 10.

Stone is a fucking scumbag. Not only did he not get thrown out for what he did, the refs called DOUBLE TECHS. WHAT?! Dude literally slammed someone's head into the ground on purpose.
Huge win for Wisc. It's amazing that we even have a chance to get into the tourney after a 9-9 start.
Hat to Ingram who had a stretch where he looked like a NBA stud. But man we got screwed.
Despite Allen taking more free throws than our entire team, despite the refs letting them play in the first half and then calling a foul on seemingly every possession that Duke didn't score and getting into the bonus halfway through the second half, that last play was the game.
... yesterday (and, yes, Stone did deserve to be tossed), I am so glad the Terps are out of the ACC and the crap that goes on as depicted by the video that was linked above.
I still remember the 1980 ACC Tourney final in Greensboro that I was at where Kenny Dennard undercut Buck Williams at the buzzer to preserve a one-point championship victory.
is exceeded only by my joy reading the post-mortems from Mook and Greg and the other bashers. I have a bad feeling about the upcoming game with the Heels - but us Dukies have had it too good for too long. Best wishes to all.
and went up and down. The ball was still in his hand when his right foot hit the floor - for the third time. Terrible officiating.
Not to mention that Allen clearly threw his elbow forward into the UVA defender's face to create space. It should have been a walk, up and down or a foul on Allen. Instead it's a game winner. Ridiculous.
It's the double whammy though. Typically terrible ACC officiating. And you're at Cameron Gym. You're not getting that call at the buzzer.
In the double bonus with 8:30 left. I knew it was going to be tough to win at that point but it's devastating to have the lead and lose on that traveling up-and-down by that tripping flopper.
It wasn't quite as bad as the Rick Hartzell robbery in 1997
Dookie fans act like they have no idea why everyone on the planet can't stand that team. Or they try to make themselves feel better by cackling that it's because Dookie wins a lot. Yeah, sure. If that gets them through the night..
Bottom line is its a program that has historically been loaded with insanely unlikable jock sniffers, floppers, privileged snobs and a whiny ass coach that gets every call, every whistle when it matters most. And the fans (all named Rob, apparently) are absolutely intolerable. No different than Cowboys fans. Oh, and they play in a shit ass tiny gymnasium and somehow have sold us on the fact that it is somehow something more, because the students don't shut up. There's only one reason why it is such a tough place for an opponent. The officials fear the wrath of the rat.
Why many people dislike Duke - primarily it has to do with hatred of success (see Yankees and Patriots), jealousy, and the fact that excellent schools aren't supposed to be blessed with all time great coaches.
Most of what you wrote says more about the people that hate Duke, rather than Duke itself.
1. They're the best. If Christian Laettner wasn't any good, no one would have cared that he acted like a jerk. (Greg Newton was an even bigger one than Laettner but no one cares about him because he's a nobody.) But he was the best player in college basketball, so there was a reason to despise him other than his cockiness and swagger.
Similarly, if Duke just had a obnoxious coach, it would be West Virginia. If Duke simply had crazy fans, it would be Maryland. If the team only flopped, it would be Real Madrid.
But Duke piles up the haters because, in addition to all those things, it's the best program in college basketball. Four national championships in the last 21 years. Eleven Final Four appearances since 1986. Eight title game appearances over the same span. No other school can match those credentials.
UNC, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan State, etc...Plenty of schools have had enormous success over the years. Recent years. Yet none of these schools are "hated" anywhere near as much as Dookie.
Keep telling yourself it's jealousy, if it makes you feel better. It's nowhere near the truth, but why should the truth matter, right? It's that arrogance that the rest of the world laughs at and cringes over.
"It's because we're awesome!". Bwahaaaaaaaa! Except, you're not?

There some great schools on that list, but just based on popular rankings (US News, as an example) none are peers of Duke academically, which makes your point, unsurprisingly, irrelevant.
You also included Kentucky, which is barely a university when it comes to academics and basketball, and UNC, which literally had to create an entire program for its athletes to play with blocks for a couple of hours to get grades.
And he also walked
tough loss
And he also walked
Yup. 3 steps
And he also walked
Come on mook. Count Chocula would never suspend his best player. He could have shot someone on the court and nothing would have happened.
You know what the one common denominator is with all of these bullshit moves Duke players have pulled over the years? Rat Face.

He's the most overrated player in the country. Ingram is the real deal, though. That kid killed us.
Almost makes me wish for the days of Jim Burr.

21 years, and UVa can't catch Duke on a single bad day - I mean, what are the odds?
