worth reading in depth.

One additional fact that I think is significant. You have a blank for his birthdate. Not easy to find; wikipedia only says "c. 1994."

However, per the linked source, his DOB is actually 3/17/92. That makes him the oldest 2016 top prospect I'm aware of, even a few months older than Kevin Dodd.

Even more unusually, he went straight through his four years at Oregon, so he was already 20 years old when he graduated high school.

Giants have not drafted an "old" player in the first round since Reese's first year, 2007, when they drafted Aaron Ross. Since then, all Giants' first rounders have been 21 (or younger) on draft day, except for Justin Pugh, who was 22.

Most mocks have Buckner going before #10. If he does drop, Giants will, I think, consider the age issue in addition to whether he fits the 4-3.

Might I make a suggestion?

Instead on linking EVERYTHING to your site(which is starting to look like spam), could you simply give you opinion on the subject you mention HERE, and THEN make a link to your sire for further examination?

Just a thought.
Thanks and a few Questions

Summation: Not considered an "elite pass rusher" - wouldn't that be a concern for a team starving for pass rush pressure?

Says he has a non-stop motor, but I've also read he takes plays off. Is that an unfair knock on him?

Is he better suited for 3-4 defense?

That was one draft analyst saying he took plays off. What he failed to tell you it was when he watched the Arizona State game. The same when I disputed the Senior Bowl saying he was a healthy scratch. He was not! Against ASU, he suffered a wrist injury, yet played with it & actually recorded a sack in each of his final eight games. Now, with more than two dozen touchdown-saving tackles for that sorry defense, that is easy to dispute that he took plays off & easily cement that he played with a non-stop motor.
As for the gentleman about the links not to his liking, well, I'm old dog, flip phone, wish I still had my Commodore 64 & pine for lead gas in my 67 SS. The blog the stuff is on is ad-free unless they toss an ad there, so this is the best I can do. Sorry. I leave it to others to decide to read & if I am a pain in the butt, no problem bowing out in the future, cool?
thanks

re: the other point(s) - can Giants do better re: finding a better pass rusher at #10, without sacrificing too much in the run game?

He's 280 now? With that frame will he grow even more towards 3-4 DE?

is still my #1 or #2 DL in this draft. Bosa is the only one that can potentially edge him out.

Buckner is NOT restricted to 3-4 DE duty. He would actually be an ideal LDE in the giants 4-3 scheme with the ability to shift inside and play pass rushing DT role. This would be a big time get for NYG at #10. Not just a pass rusher. Not just a run defending DE. He is a do it all type. Mario Williams.

No, like your input. But be more like Sy56, and keep active in the thread itself when folks ask questions. It's all good.
Great stuff Dave
