Pretty impressive end notes on him:
"On 127 running plays directed at Rankins, ball carriers finished with zero yards. He made eight touchdown-saving tackles vs. the ground game and in addition to posting 31.5 tackles-for-loss, he stopped twelve runners at the line of scrimmage for no gain through 45 contests"
in his 4 years at Louisville, he played 4-3 dt for two years and 3-4 d-end for two years, so he is someone Spags could easily move around on the line to create match-ups.
