A lot on here have been talking about signing 2 to 3 top tier free agents this year but I don't think we can do that as within the next 2 years we will have Hankins and ODB to extend. They both will take up a lot of cap room each, my guess is north of $10 million each per year. I am not a cap guy but I thought this was a point worth discussing.
Pugh has been average to slightly above average at best. His contract shouldn't be too bad.
They can use the option on him, at least. So he has two years left.
1) Eli's cap number drops $5million freeing up room.
2) cap should be higher.
I'm no expert but the $5m could go straight to Hank.
In the case of Hankins and Pugh I'd like to see Hankins get healthy and play well before extending him. In Pugh's case can we get him through a season without a concussion before dropping big money in his lap.
I don't view him as an absolute 'must keep'.
He's a nice player and seems like a really positive team guy, but I think he's probably the 2nd, if not 3rd, best player on a really strong OL.
Want to see him have an impact season, before opening the vault...

Is Bromley(sucks) and Kuhn(even worse). We need Hankins plus someone else.
We need a lot more than just someone else....
