Since LT and covers and defends the pass like Deion Sanders is gonna last until 10. Dude you have no clue.
Jack might be the best LB prospectcoming out of college since LT, really. If he's still on the board at 5 Reese should offer the Jags our 2 to swap 1s. Or next year's 1...

For one thing, calm the fuck down and get Jack's nuts out of your mouth. All I said is "it wouldn't surprise me". Nothing to get your blue panties twisted about.
Keuchly was selected at 9. It's not ridiculous to speculate that Jack might go in the same range.
Jack is a great prospect, but let's not put him in Canton just yet.
Consider trading up for was JJ Watt. How did he turn out? We waited out turn and got Fooking Prince, and our #2 was Marvin Austin... I can't help it if you haven't a clue what you are looking at when you watch football. Jack is special and rare, very rare, he's worth a trade up, and there is no chance in hell he will last until 10.
I enjoy your posts but you should know better than to speak in absolutes about the draft. Every year there are a handful of prospects fans *swear* will never last until X pick yet every year guys unexpectedly slip 10 spots, 15 spots, entire rounds from where they were projected. You might be right, maybe Jack doesnt get past 4 or 5. At the same time, youre a better poster than the type of guy who starts a post with "You fools!" like a supervillian chastizing the heroes before their "impending doom"...

Wow! Lou was right once about a prospect 5 years ago Â
still hasn’t run, and everybody is salivating all over themselves. Why? He won’t be around at #10. He’s like a 10 you can look at, but can’t have. Deal with it.
But I couldn't resist directing a "you fools" to Lake George Giant re Jack. He gave Jack a "meh" comment... And frankly that's as ignorant as pus. Jack is anything but "meh!"
I mean on this current Giants team he would be the best LB they've had since Armstead instantly, and the best RB currently on the roster, at the same time.
I think you need to look up the word hyperbole. Might also want to check out two guys named Von Miller and Kahil Mack (just to name two players from the last five years)
He's the best cover-LB to enter the league since Keuchly. He's actually probably more talented in coverage than Keuchly was and has a higher ceiling as a coverage-backer than what Keuchly is today. That's saying a lot.
Problem is that he has a severe lack of experience playing a true MLB position. He was used all over the place in college and this helped in some ways but it also severely hindered his "Defensive-QB/MLB" potential. Guys like Willis and Keuchly were super athletic but also had a ton of true MLB experience in college. That's why people loved Jaylon Smith, he flashed great athleticism while also having a lot more true LB experience than Jack.
But no one else in this draft makes me say "Holy Shit" nearly as much as Jack. Even if he's not a true MLB type, he could be the Evolutionary Derrick Brooks with his insane combination of coverage ability and physicality. I've always felt Brooks was one of the more under-appreciated defensive stars of the past 20 years and he'd arguably be even better in today's game than he was back then.
And not know what a prospect Jack is? Head stuck in the ground or elsewhere?
Osi thank you.
Fiddy, right of the top of my head he reminds me of Urlacher of the Bears or Patrick Willis among recent LBs. But he's more "athletic" than either of them, the way he drops back and covers passes. Some teams have talked about converting him to Safety, he moves so well in space.
He has one trait specifically that reminds me of LT. It's how he sifts through traffic to get to the ball. It's uncanny, he just sort of drifts between opposing blockers and his own team mates, and then, Zip! He attacks the ball carrier with pop once within range.
You gotta watch his tape. And he's a heck of an RB too. Runs a bit like Earl Campell, immense power and speed and good forward lean when getting tough yards like at the goal line. But at the same time nimble and graceful.
He will go before #7. Dallas purportedly loves RB Elliott due to his having a solid game as a runner, receiver and pass protector. The pass protection makes him a weapon in an offense.
If 3 QB's go between 2-9 as some have suggested we will get Elliott. If Dallas thinks Romom is going to hold up a few more years they may just be dreaming so no first round QB could lead to major boos should Romo go down in season.
If we get Elliott round one we have a rotational starting RB. Our offense has a guy that can block down the blitzed and turn around for that 1-10 yard pass we would previously not get. Move the chains. Playmakers are key in the NFL.
Where did I say that I don't like Jack as a prospect? Â
You went overboard with the LT/Deion references in the same post. Especially on this site where LT is considered even better tha he actually was (which is still better than everyone else lol).
But I'm also sipping the Kool Aid and riding on the Jack bandwagon. I just hope he doesn't end up in Dallas or Philly so I can root for him.
Is a good prospect. To even mention his name in the same sentence as LT is blasphemy and that's putting it lightly. I wouldn't put him in Jaylon Smith's class if Smith was healthy. That being said I would take him at #10 if his medicals check out. It's probable he is gone but not out of the question.
Look at his tape and you'll see it. He springs on the ball carrier or receiver like lightning, and from a distance. He also goes up for the ball on pass plays from any spot on the field.
RE: RE: Trying to figure out what a 40 inch verticle Â
Jon - to tell you the truth, I had no idea he had a surgically repaired knee and didn't get medical clearance until last month. With a player like him (post surgery) all those running and jumping drills are probably very beneficial/important (to him) for the Scouts and Head coaches to see and evaluate - especially if he scores well.
also if Philly goes QB and lynch, the bucs will take hargreaves. its also possible you see a guy like lawson jump into top ten, or maybe a guy like conklin. jack could fall but honestly we need the top 9 to go EXACTLY as planned above or we need a minor knock on jack to come to light...i bet neither happens, but we have seen crazier
floyd and dodd are two guys who have their names rising so maybe one of them slip into to 9, we are over a month away so its still pretty early to really get a total grasp. but i will say i expect jack to be there at 6 and if he is giants should think about trading up IMO. he is special
With Terrel Suggs on his last legs, no way Jack gets past Â

Thanks Lou - didn't realize he was coming off a surgically repaired knee. High scores on these drills have make the scouts and coaches breathe easier.
Can't believe with all the mention of his name everywhere - I never heard about his surgery. Guess I wasn't paying attention. : )
But he hardly even played this past year... I think he injured his knee (during practice) after his 3rd game.
IF he had played out this season on a level of progression from his Freshman and Sophomore years, and was uninjured, he would be widely spoken of as the likely overall #1 pick.
In his case, it's SICK ATHLETE = SICK FBALLER. And that's not hyperbole.
Agree Myles jack is a special talent. Time will tell but agree one hundred percent he looks like the most cant miss prospect in the draft with the possible exception of Ramsey. No way he slides past Cowboys or Ravens though and doubt Giants covet the position enough to trade the farm away.
is an out of this world athlete. I seriously think he might run in the 4.3s when he runs on April 1st. And that's not even being fully healthy. If this guy is by Christmas miracle available at 10 and the Giants pass on him I would love to know the reason why. Nobody in the NFL currently can cover like him or snatch balls out of the air from this position like he does. He's basically a mix of a running back and WR except he plays linebacker and is an elite tackler and can toss blockers off him with ease. He is the best player in this draft in my opinion, other than Jaylon Smith pre injury.
But comparing him to LT and Brian Urlacher, I wonder if he's ever even seen Myles Jack play. He's nothing at all like those guys. LT was so skilled, he could do anything defensively, but his game was rushing the passer. Pure and simple. And despite the fact that Urlacher was a safety coming out of school, he was never much of a coverage backer.
Osi nailed it. The comparison is Derrick Brooks. Jack is a three down backer who goes sideline to sideline in a flash. Knock on him is experience and instincts. Sometimes gets lost in the wash. Big hitting potential. I think he's a WLB, personally. And yes, I would take him at 10, irrespective of who else is there.
Injuries aside, he and Jaylon Smith are the two best prospects in the draft, imho.

MO, I agreed Derrick Brooks was a great and fine comparison. Urlacher and Willis were simply the guys who sprang to mind first. Re comparing him to LT (and I did compare the way Jack has a similar knack to sift through traffic almost effortlessly and then deliver crunching hits) my hyperbolic comment was "might NE the best LB to come out of college SINCE LT."
Tht's not comparing him to LT if one gets the subtleties of written English! It's everyone else since...
Anyway happy to agree about Brooks.
One small crit of Jack is that he is slim from the waist down, not exactly the ideal LB body type which some scouts like thicker. But... Massive upper body and relatively thin hips and legs for his size, dare I say who had that same body type?
I'm with you on most of your posts but I'm interested as to your watching Jack on film and how you can't see an absolute stud here.
Well to be fair I just compared him to Julian Peterson and Derrick Brooks, who are two all pros.
I think he'll be a very good player, but I don't think he's a MLB, which really limits his value for what the Giants like to do. He'd be a glorified Jacquain Williams in our system.
but if he is I really hope they pull the trigger. That would be a lot of impact on defense. Some boom or bust (Janoris Jenkins at CB without reliable over the top help is a bit frightening) but if they can stay healthy that's a defense that can make plays.
RE: Yo fools, the last defender I raved about and thought the Giants shoul Â
Oh well!

Lol
But we will see, won't we?
RIP to the idea of Jack being available at pick #10.
Not sure there is a great comparison. Maybe Julian Peterson in his Niners days. I don't think he's a MLB

Hardly "meh" material, no?
A rangy run-and-hit LB with tremendous movement skills in the pass game.
I think Thomas Davis of Carolina is also a sound comp.

Lower body explosion.
Do me and everyone else a favor and try to stick to talking about football and don't get personal. You suck at it.
As far as worst case scenarios, that's the one for me.
But equally cringeworthy comps can be made for the other top guys.
Look at his tape and you'll see it. He springs on the ball carrier or receiver like lightning, and from a distance. He also goes up for the ball on pass plays from any spot on the field.

LOL I earned that one. Fooking Cowboy too, that really hurts! You just had "to go down there."
