I checked out some tape on the guy. He looks fast, can stop on a dime as well as blow by defenders and can make contested catches. The question I have is if he can fight through bumps at the LOS. Guy is a huge target. Sorry if this winds up being a 2nd post.

Question is, can he run an NFL route? Does he have the hands to latch onto a speed ball from an NFL caliber QB? We won't know until the middle of camp or so I'd guess. I don't put too much weight into rookie camp kudos.
My hope is he shows great potential and plays special teams really well so he can make 53 man roster and be a "feel good" story for the Giants like LB Herzlich was due to his cancer. Herzlich is barely serviceable as a LB but he is better than average on specials which is why he likely stuck for these years and is now eligible for an NFL pension. However, I think this is the year Herzlich may actually be let go IF we draft LB's.

Jimmy the Greek didn't GENERALIZE. He observed, rightly or wrongly, that black players came from a line of slaves whom the owners thought were "studs," i.e., big strong guys who would be able to do a lot of work. He was stupid to bring it up, but it wasn't racist. He might have been historically wrong, but he wasn't racist for saying that.

When I worked in Montreal for ten years, we lived about one mile from the Alouettes Stadium. Imagine being able to walk to a professional football game. Anyway, the place was usually only three quarter full every week and the Alouettes were a pretty good team by CFL standards. BTW, the stadium was wonderful, bandbox size with all the seats with a great view of the field. Football didn't seem to be Monteal's game .. obviously, not with the Canadians down the street .. another arena I could walk to.

There was a very lengthy article on the physical differences between blacks and whites in Sports Illustrated many, many years ago, when interested people would write about scientific findings and realities without being labeled racist. I think it was the introduction of the fast twitch/slow twitch locutions. They reported that the physical differences in buttocks, calves and thighs between blacks and whites favored blacks in terms of speed and quickness. You can look it up, I guess, if the PC crowd hasn't excised it from the web.

How do you explain the fact that East African blacks make such good distance runners, but not short yardage dash runners and that the blacks from Central and West Africa, make great dash men but not good distance runners? Does the fact that the former tend to be long muscled and thin and the latter tend to be more heavily muscled and often stocky have anything to do with it?

There is so much wrong with this quote - where to start? Well, first of all, I hate to throw clouds on your world view, but the idea that he was set up by a "liberal media" is just absurd, unless you believe reporter Ed Hotaling asking many people in the restaurant about civil rights on MLK Day was all to set up Jimmy the Greek. Jimmy, who I knew, went off script to talk about how slaves bred with larger slaves somehow, in a period of less than 200 years, overwrote millennia of evolutionary history.
But that wasn't why he was fired. He was fired for saying that professional teams shouldn't hire black coaches and front office personnel, because "there wouldn't be any jobs left for whites" (direct quote). I don't think he was racist, but he had a patriarchal view of race, like blacks were "them" and whites were "us".
