If I missed something and he was signed elsewhere, please just go onto another thread. Thanks.
If not, and he is still available, a couple of thoughts: I'm sure there are some unpleasant feelings on both sides but unless that bridge has been burned to the ground, perhaps they can still kiss and make up. Maybe the new OL coach can do something. If he can pass the physical why not? We thought very highly of him in the past and paid him a bazillion dollars.
All those waiting for a third or fourth rounder to step in at tackle this year, get real. We can use that # 10 pick elsewhere unless this GLARING HOLE is not solved by draft day.
Waiting for a summer cut from another team is very, very risky. So why not Beatty? Suck up whatever bad feelings there are. Gotta be pretty cheap by now.
We may not have JPP after this year, and since Odi is hardly a model of durability, I think it's imperative that the Giants get another young DE in the pipeline (although not necessarily with a premium pick). Ditto for Hankins and DT.
sign and trade? Davis is signed. Not sure what you mean by sign and trade.
2. Who cares when fans consider Beatty soft? What does matter is that his outgoing OC called him that. There is no greater insult to a professional athlete than to have one of his coaches question his toughness. I didn't. You didn't. Gilbride did.
3. I tire of the "There was no choice at that point but to sign him" excuse for Reese's professional misconduct. Even if this is true, Reese bears responsibility for getting himself boxed in like that in the first place. And likewise Baas and Beason. And the departure of Joseph. Same dif. Have an immediate plans in place. A 1-year out plan. A 3-year plan. You see Reese's reluctance into projecting forward yet again by not dealing with Pugh and Hankins.

I think you're taking Gilbride's comments on Beatty slightly out of context.
here was the exact quote.
Good point, I assume, but don't know, once he applies for reinstatement and is active again, his contract with SF (through the 2019 season) is also re-activated.
The front office labeled him as being soft? See my post above.
