Listening to the Move the Sticks podcast, he is saying that there is not one person who he talks to that thinks Treadwell is going in the top 20 and they speculate that he could be destined for the top of round 2. It is lying season, but interesting nonetheless.
Maybe the same will happen here....

The dream
Sometimes guys fall for good reason.
Take him with many grains of sodium.
Coleman, Doctson, Fuller go before him. Maybe more.
Sometimes guys fall for good reason.
How do you figure? Collins showed plenty of promise.
Who have you heard? Any idea what the board looks like?
Sometimes guys fall for good reason.
The fuck? Really?

Really what? Collins was not good last year.
I still say this guy is a great compliment to Beckham.

He's a down hill safety with inadequate coverage skills that was forced to play the exact opposite position all year... Are you saying that he didn't show any promise?

Couldn't disagree more...he showed plenty given the circumstances he was put in.

Chris, he led all rookies in tackles last year playing out of position. I'd say that's a hell of a start.
I still say this guy is a great compliment to Beckham.
I strongly agree.

We would def have to move up to # 1 in rd 2 for this to happen.
The dream
The 1st pick in the second round belongs to the Browns. Sounds like they will be looking for WR. Might have to trade back to the first. Someone has to save Treadwell:)
Have no picks for two years lol
Sometimes guys fall for good reason.
Collins is part of the solution here. He did well considering what they asked of him.
Sometimes guys fall for good reason.
If you plugged the name "Reuben Randle" in that statement you would be correct.
Collins is a player. Reese fucked up by not having a viable FS on the roster. Spags fucked up by moving him all over in different roles every week instead of leaving him in his natural SS spot and playing around him.
Sometimes guys fall for good reason.
Are you kidding, or just trying to get a rise out of people?
Floyd?
How about Shepard in round 2?
If the Giants want a WR, I think they can sit at #40 and get a good one.

Radar know jack shit about football. Or anything in life for that matter.
I agree that he showed promise. He was pretty good at knifing through the LOS. Still would love to see him moved to WILL
Or how about a truly great route runner with explosive quickness and excellent hands like Shepard?

Based on what besides hope is Collins a player?
Watch Collins play in space. He can cover ground and lay the wood. That's a valuable player.
Then, and only then, would this discussion about Laquon Treadwell be resolved.
Otherwise...we just. don't. know.
But as many have said, he was playing out of position somewhat.
If he was a sixth round pick nobody would be saying he showed promise. It's just that he was projected to go in the first and showed good physical and more importantly mental skills that you figure he will be a good player.
So, the book is still out on him.
Now Treadwell isn't a good pick at 40 either? You're rich. A guy who might be a reach at 10 can't be a nice value pick at 40?
What is with your vendetta against this guy? Did he diddle your sister?
Basically a guy who can't play on the outside and has to be in the slot to beat up lbers and nickel corners.
Doctson is better at jump balls and speed. No idea why people love treadwell so much. Has no game breaking abilities, he's just a #2 rec who can't play outside and tested so horribly that you can't even comp him to allen Robinson, another jumpball receiver who runs high 4.5s.
Or this Antonio Brown clone from Oklahoma:
I said he would be OK at 40 but I'd rather they use that pick on something else. Nothing to get worked up about.
That's terrible analysis. Both parts. Here's a list of players who fell on draft day:
- Joe Montana (Third Round);
- Roger Staubach (Tenth Round) - Four year military commitment;
- Bart Starr (Seventeenth Round) -
Athleticism;
- Dan Marino (First Round)
Reports of cocaine use;
Thurman Thomas (Second Round) -
Knee injury;
- Shannon Sharpe (Seventh Round) -
Was thought of as a tweener due to his size;
- Zach Thomas (Fifth Round) -
Size
- Randy Moss (First Round) -
Character Issues;
- Willis McGahee - (First Round) -
Major knee injury;
- Dez Bryant (First Round) -
Character Issues;
- Aaron Rogers (First Round) -
Mechanics, college system
- Rob Gronkowski (Second Round) - Sustained seriois back injury in final season;
- Justin Houston (Second Round) -
Character issues;
- Luke Kuechly (First Round) -
Dropped due to position;
- Tyrann Mathieu -(Third Round)
- Character issues;
- Jesse Armstead (Seventh Round) -
Sustained a major knee injury in final season;
Shall I keep going?
So yes, while there are circumstances that may cause a player to plummet in the draft, that shouldn't preclude us from being interested - regarless or round. Thats simply dumb.
