New York Giants 2016 Schedule Announced - ( New Window )

Week 4 and 5 make no friggen sense
jlukes : 4/14/2016 8:04 pm : link
I wonder if the coaching staff keeps the team out in the midwest during that week.
I guess we'll find out 2 weeks in how much better
shockeyisthebest8056 : 4/14/2016 8:06 pm : link
the defense is.
While it's a joke we open up in Dallas again,
Dave in Hoboken : 4/14/2016 8:06 pm : link
at least it's not the Sunday night game. 4:25 >>> 8:25
I also HATE playing a potentially HUGE
shockeyisthebest8056 : 4/14/2016 8:07 pm : link
game at Philly on a short week.
Thank the lord it is not a sunday night opener
jlukes : 4/14/2016 8:08 pm : link
.
We ALL knew that Dallas opener was coming
Bold Ruler : Mod : 4/14/2016 8:09 pm : link
it seems like we're stuck with it forever now.
I was all gung-ho to go to Green Bay
bigblue12 : 4/14/2016 8:10 pm : link
The one week I am on vacation....too bad but I'd rather be in Jamaica
New Year's Day at Washington at 1p?
B in ALB : 4/14/2016 8:13 pm : link
When has that ever happened?

This might be the most bizarre schedule I've ever seen.
Will the Giants-Eagles be the color rush game?
Sean : 4/14/2016 8:14 pm : link
.
Split the division
BigBlue in Keys : 4/14/2016 8:16 pm : link
And I can convince myself of 7 other wins. 10-6
Thursday Night in Week 16?
Giants in 07 : 4/14/2016 8:16 pm : link
WTF?

Seems that way. At least there's one thing to look forward to in playing the Eagles this year. Both uniforms *should* (keyword, should) look cool.
5 games in a row at home
Big Blue '56 : 4/14/2016 8:18 pm : link
And end season with 5 out of 6 on the road?

If that Giants/Redskins game is for the
GmeninPSL : 4/14/2016 8:21 pm : link
Division it could be moved from New Years Day to New Years Day eve which will give us more time to get over any New Years eve hang-over :)

Last 4 out of 6 on the road. At home for Dallas and Detroit in back to back weeks.

Huh?
And where are the 5 in a row at home?
Dave in Hoboken : 4/14/2016 8:25 pm : link

simple for ny
aceinthehouse : 4/14/2016 8:25 pm : link
The first 5 and last 4 are the season for them.

All 9 are conference games.
5 are in division.

If they don't at least win 5 of those and 2 of them in division?

Might as well start talking about the 2017 draft.
Fantastic...
MrHankinsTheChristmasPugh : 4/14/2016 8:29 pm : link
A London game. All in all a winnable schedule though.

Fine by me. Better than playing Christmas Eve/Day
Looks like the season
Reb8thVA : 4/14/2016 8:37 pm : link
Might be determined in the final four weeks. At least our destiny should be in our own hands.
Benefit of having a Thursday game the second to last week
figgy2989 : 4/14/2016 8:50 pm : link
Is if there is a playoff spot or division title on the line in week 17, it will be nice to ha e the extra three days rest.
In additon to the perpetual at Dallas opener,
shyster : 4/14/2016 8:52 pm : link
the other, even more consistent tradition is that Dallas gets a "long" preparation for its mid-season game against the Giants.

The previous three years in a row, Dallas was given its bye the week before playing the Giants. This year, Dallas gets its Thursday night game in Week 13, preceding its trip to NYG in Week 14.

There's no way any of this happens except at Jerrah's "request".

We have 5 games at night for one reason only
Canton : 4/14/2016 8:52 pm : link
Mr, prime time himself..

OBJ
Looks like 2-5 or 3-4 at the bye.
The_Boss : 4/14/2016 8:57 pm : link
That's a killer.
2 years in a row opening at Dallas......
Simms11 : 4/14/2016 8:58 pm : link
WTF makes these schedules?! This schedule sucks. At Vikes on a Monday night only to turn around and play at the Packers the following Sunday!! They will probably have to stay out there somewhere on a short week. Minnesota and Green Bay are very close in proximity.
The away games
Pete in MD : 4/14/2016 9:02 pm : link
are brutal for us Mid-Atlantic folks. Philly on Thursday night a few days before Christmas and Washington on New Year's Day. Pittsburgh in early December is do-able but it would be nicer in September or October.
Opening up Dallas?
jeff57 : 4/14/2016 9:05 pm : link
What a surprise. I hate the league office.
Were Gonna Fuck Dallas Up....
Bluesbreaker : 4/14/2016 9:30 pm : link
Corey Coleman will blow by them for a Long TD..
And the Giants
sphinx : 4/14/2016 9:37 pm : link
quickly change the initial listing of 'Washington' to "Redskins"

He's a part for sure. But it is the ratings plus how the networks view the team's strength. Teams expected to be crappy don't get two Monday night games.
Sorry guys,

read the sked too fast..

We have had 4-5 prime time games for the last 10 years, ODB has nothing to do with it. Since 2006. 4. 2007 5, 2008 5, 2009 5, 2010 4, 2011 5, 2012 5, 2013 5, 2014 5, 2015 5, and this year 5 prime time games again.
We have to get off to a fast start this year.......
Simms11 : 4/14/2016 10:38 pm : link
We haven't won an opener in a number of years. It's time! Our defense will be tested right out of the gate and we owe Dallas.
3-0 start is "key' given our schedule
SGMen : 4/14/2016 10:39 pm : link
We can't afford to stumble out of the gates due to poor communication (new players, new staff) and then face the Vikings and Green Bay on the road. Ouch.

Here is to beating Dallas on the road to start the season with a GREAT taste in our mouths. Lets hope JPP knocks Tony Romo out of the game! Not for the season, just the game.
8-8 season

Giants are one of the bigger market teams. Either way, who is going to the Giants at Packer game? Can’t wait to visit that stadium!
Glad to see
jc in c-ville : 4/14/2016 11:01 pm : link
The Einsteins who made up the complete schedule has Denver in about 12 prime time/national games with the Bengals at Houston on Christmas Eve night- so inventive.

Good thing it's in the beginning of October!
Yep I was glad

Another garbage opponent for the Philadelphia Eagles once again...
London game is 930 am
BigBlue in Keys : 4/15/2016 1:36 am : link
630 am for any west coast fans. That is just ridiculous

They get a cream puff in week 1 every damn year. Meanwhile, we haven't been 1-0 since 2010
I'm actually looking forward to watching a game at 9:30 am
beatrixkiddo : 4/15/2016 9:45 am : link
Get to wake up and eat breakfast to some NY Giants Football!
When can we at least get a home game week 1?
ANGPASS : 4/15/2016 9:46 am : link
We only got it in 2012 because we won the superbowl. Is that what we have to do to get a damn home game week 1? Fine. If that's what it takes ....
Well
NYerInMA : 4/15/2016 10:07 am : link
for us New England folks, it looks like only two games are guaranteed not to be televised: Week 2 vs. NO, and Week 6 vs. BAL. The Pats are at home at the same time as those games. Obviously there's always the potential for the Boston affiliates to screw with us on a few of the other afternoon games, but at this point it's looking pretty good.
wow, if nothing changes...we totally got Fd on tailgating
YorkAveGiant : 4/15/2016 10:40 am : link
all these bullspit 1pm starts.

what is this, the 1960s and 70s??

where are all the plum 415pm starts??
there are only two 415 games these days
Route 9 : 4/15/2016 10:43 am : link
With a TNF game a SNF game and a MNF game (less teams during bye weeks) you basically have a game of the week on FOX and one west coast game
Feels like

Groundhog Day. Change it up, NFL! For fook's sake ...
The NFL is as poorly run as the US Government!
nicky43 : 4/15/2016 1:00 pm : link
No imagination what so ever. And no logic either. Again we start off away at Dallas And why the heck they start week 1 with such Key in division match-ups is beyond me.

Also, notice how they are moving more of the more competitive and exciting games to Thursday night so the NFL channel can have them. I think I really hate these Thursday night games more than the players do.

I think the issue won’t matter in September when we’re all glad football is here instead of it being April and people are talking about The Masters and the NCCA Men’s Basketball Tournament. Yawn. Who knows? Maybe the Giants will win. They almost did last year. ..
This is like 5 out of the last 6 years we have played the Vikes away
