Several head coaches and GMs were on hand for the University of Georgia's pro day. Orlando Ledbetter (@DOrlandoAJC) March 16, 2016 The Atlanta Falcons were well represented, with head coach Dan Quinn, GM Thomas Dimitroff and assistant GM Scott Pioli all present. Buffalo Bills head coach Rex Ryan was there with his brother, defensive coordinator Rob Ryan. Defensive end Leonard Floyd, who had to pull out of the NFL Combine after injuring his hamstring, became ill and was also unable to participate Wednesday. |
He mentions and his pictures of several, but no mention of an official visit to the Giants.
Whatever that means................
He has/had a shoulder injury.

He has/had a shoulder injury.
That's my point. Another injury concern. And what's this, 'became ill' stuff? 'Tuff it out fella.
A tummy ache? You know he got food poisoning, right?

You can't be this clueless.

Because of a tummy ache is a concern. Especially with GMs there. If you go with him in the first round you better have made him come to a private workout
A tummy ache? You know he got food poisoning, right?
Well, that's the cover story. You believe that?
2) Shoulder injury(those can be serious, he still hasn't lifted)
3) Tummy ache(Really? On on one of the most important days of your life? Funny timing considering #'s 1 & 2).
I didn't realize they poisoned the food at the Georgia team table. Hope no one else got sick...
However, Gil Brandt, who wasn't within hundreds of miles of the scene and was only reading the same comments from Floyd as everyone else, did use the words "food poisoning" in his nfl.com article on the UGA pro day.
The internet then adopted "Dr." Brandt's diagnosis as official.
You mean like in 2008 saying Tiger Woods would never win another Major? Something like that?
Floyd said breakfast.

Hummmm, funny how that works...

That doesn't mean he didnt have food poisoning. Rotoworld, NFL.com, etc. state food poisoning. Just becaise he said he ate something that didn't agree with him doesn't mean he wasn't suffering from food poisoning. Have you ever had food poisoning? I have had it twice. Whether he had it or not may be up for question but Floyd saying he ate something in the morning does not mean that he didn't have food poisoning from the night prior. Show me where Floyd said he didn't have food poisoning.
No, not the case at all. I'd like him at 10. However, these are valid concerns when ALL of BBI says we do not want a player with injury/tummy concerns. Just pointing out the red flags.
Food poisoning was the original story floating. However per in a interview Floyd said "It was more that I ate something for breakfast, and I had a messed-up stomach. I couldn’t keep going.” There was speculation in the Atlanta press Floyd ate to much at breakfast for the weigh in.
I'm definitely one that has a conflicted opinion on Floyd, but honestly don't think anyone had expectations that he would do well in the bench press. He has very long arms and its not what he is about. If teams wanted to see him doing LB drills, bench press or concerned about his surgically repaired shoulder, they could have brought him in for a visit. Curious NYG didn't bring him. Maybe how they intend to use him it doesn't matter?
All true but...
He's NEVER injured, which is the point of this thread.
But if he did not have these concerns, he would be a top five pick and wouldn't even be in the discussion at 10.
There was concern about Odell being only 5'11" . That concern proved groundless because his other talents made his lack of height a non-issue. JPP had not played much football and was at a non-football power.
At 10, you either settle for a guy who has produced but has limited upside or you go for the guy with a high ceiling but greater risk. Jerry seems to like to go potential in this spot.
My biggest concern.....single blocks contain him and he does not seem able to disengage.......if we do draft him.....I hope he can rush the passer and cover TEs with the best of them.....but he has enough red flags to be a little worried.
They were almost identical size at the combine. Collins was 6'4 250. Floyd is 6'6 248

They may have the same approximate height and weight but they don't have the same body type. Look at their pictures taken at combine. Do they look the same to you?

Think someone else used a comparable of Telvin Smith http://prod.images.jaguars.clubs.nflcdn.com/image-web/NFL/CDA/data/deployed/prod/JAGUARS/assets/images/imported/JAC/photos/clubimages/2014/05-May/tempAP119286554486_1--nfl_mezz_1280_1024.jpg?width=620&height=465
Clearly, he was fraidy-scared of the bench press.
Okay, now I'm just trolling you. ;)
Either way who cares? NFL players have different body types.
Ernie Sims was an absolute monster. He was a shitty NFL player.
Stan will never get food poisoning. In fact, he poisons the food. He has had more golf aces than Tiger, Jack and Arnie combined. Don't dare question the greatness that is Stan in LA.

Cover story? He had dinner with a team the night before and got food poisoning. If you have never had food poisoning I hope you get it so you know how debilitating it is and can stop your nonsense. By the way, how is the word on Jack in LA since you know everything? Is it still all hush hush? (P.S. I dont give a fuck about those questions so please don't answer them)

Actually, I did get food poisoning once now that I recall. It happened on my Pro Day many years ago. What a tough break that was!
