Draft week!! Do you have any draft day traditions?

superspynyg : 4/25/2016 8:19 am
I am just curious if there is anything that you like to do on draft day every year? Food choice, beer or liquor you like to drink? Get together with friends? I know most work that day and the day after.

I always host a draft party (except last year when I was moving) with several friends. Usually include 1 other Gmen fan, 1 Pats fan and a Phins fan. We get wings chips and beer. Good time every year.

I also like to watch the movie draft day. I gets me in the mood.

What about you guys?
Lots

of nail biting, followed by screaming at the TV. It’s irrational. But this is what fans do. I tell myself every year that it won’t happen again, but it always does. Your tradition sounds much better.
Only watch round one up to NYG pick because it

is as entertaining as watching paint dry.

But Giants have helped me out in the last few years by picking so early.

:- )

The usual.

Sacrifice a goat, dance around the fire pit, then the orgy begins.
I turn on the tv,

and watch the draft. That's my tradition, and it works every time. ;-)
Oh, the usual

I bowl. Drive around. The occasional acid flashback

Actually, the draft brings back fond memories of my old man, was always a tradition to watch with him, he loved to spread out magazines and newspapers with lists of prospects and discuss who the Giants might take
We've got our own homemade draft board

Since NFLN has been such a huge disappointment for me

after a terrific debut, I cancelled it a few years ago. What I do is activate it through draft weekend and cancel it the day after it's done..I don't even bother with any package that includes ESPN
A friend of mine has a yearly party

It his big thing. Firepit, outdoor tv, BBQ, etc. He starts at 3pm and parties till the draft is over. I usually try to make that if I can. Hopefully the rain holds off.

So there can be much rendering of cloth after the picks. I like to keep my TV and remote intact.
I like to get naked

Go trout fishing on opening day with my 2 sons and getting back in time for the draft. Oh wait! the draft is not on Saturday anymore, so after years of this special day, we can't do that anymore. And because its on Thursday, my sons and I can't even get together for it at all. So I guess my new tradition is to sit there and watch it by myself. Thanks Goodell, I'm sure you're making more money this way.

and food. Hard to have much of a tradition now with the thing broken up over several days the way it is.

You can still do that for rounds 4-7! LOL.

"who do you like in the 4th... oooh I hope they draft Devon Cajuste!"

"Not me, dad... really excited for Graham Glasgow to be a Giant, got to fix the lines, Dad!"
Rounds 2-3 are going to be weird this year.

I've got my whole Friday schedule blocked off for "attend the birth of my second child."

I've a feeling that may tie me up a bit for Day 3, too...
I used to be so into the draft

now i watch when the Giants pick and that's it. Goodell has sucked most of the fun out of the NFL for me.
The new draft format has kind of killed the event for me

I used to sit down and watch the entire thing from start to finish over the weekend. I'd order in all my meals, stock up on beer, etc. But now, with the Thurs/Fri prime time schedule, I basically only tune in around the time the Giants are expected to be on the clock.

Celebration, or comfort time!
I remember calling "Sports Phone" from work during the day
