Sick of looking at that game 5 thread and envisioning a happy hudson and Steelgiant jumping up and down for joy with their Crosby and "Kristopher Allen" Letang blow-up dolls.
Lets discuss early offseason news and our golf and summer plans here, but lets also see the hatred flowing as we root against ....well... everybody. The only worse EC final 4 i can think of would be to swap in Flyers or Devils for Tampa, and that's impossible under the new playoff format. And Tampa sucks too.
So fuck 'em all - I want to see pain, inept officiating as we saw in NYI/FL games 5 & 6, coaches challenges and long delays, 3 OT games with the home team losing, *lulz* quotes from kwhite2250 that the 'sky is falling' on NYI threads, and of course, a Western Conference Champion.
Kerry Fraser - ( New Window )
Thanks for posting this. Very interesting read. The apology to Fleury was great. I always hated Andy Van Hellmond the most.
Apparently the path to the Cup is getting dumped by the Rangers. Rangers dump Gaborik in 2013, he wins the Cup with the Kings in 2014. Richards gets bought out in 2014, wins with the Hawks in 2015. Hagelin is traded in 2015, wins in 2016.
Keith Yandle's going to win a Cup next year, then. :(
game 6 at home, backs to the wall, Sharks should win and almost every game 7 is a toss up.
I do not think we'll see handshakes tonight.
the only NHL Stanley Cup winning celebration I've missed in my not little kid life, was the Bruins. Couldn't stomach that one, the rest of them I enjoy.

Honestly, I think the Sharks' best chance to win the series ended with Game 4. They had a chance to tie the series, at home, and the laid an enormous egg. I think they win tonight and lose at home in Game 6.
they need to find a way to slow down the Penguins and neutral zone trap or a left-wing lock approach is the most proven recent way to combat speed.
Plus the Sharks are a veteran team, they should be able to adjust.
If they do that and can put a barrage on Murray I think he'll cave.
Rangers management should be embarrassed.
Rangers management should be embarrassed.
That never bothers me anymore, because I got used to it at an early age.
I watched Chelios and Roy hoist cups with other teams (they won in MTL too, but still) so no NHL player winning a cup for another team would phase me anymore.
another softie by Murray
Sharks getting all the calls in this game.
if the pens win, can't pin it on the refs.
And now it's going to be on against Game of Thrones.
Yeah, if you don't watch it, it's probably annoying.
What the fuck is game of thorns?
Autocorrect strikes again.
Autocorrect strikes again.
You should watch that. It's a good show.
The way I read it is that both Nash and Girardi would need to be protected.
Not good.
So you can go ahead and scrap the whole novel I wrote last time around this week as far as a potential offseason plan.

Doubt an organization which just saw their revenues triple yet lost out on significant dollars with so few playoff games will handcuff themselves. At least one will be traded or bought out if not both.
Have you looked at the cap implications of those buyouts? Not good at all, let alone for both of them.
It isn't just about the economics, it has severe cap implications.

They key part of that article is confusingly written. Not sure it contradicts Brooks.
Generally dont have to protect guys on ELCs. And Graves isnt really the worry. If you have to protect DG and Staal, kiss McDonagh or Skjei goodbye (more realistically you trade someone).

IMO, no move will be easy yet I don't see the organization just riding this ship into the ground by allowing, perhaps, a player like Graves get snatched up b/c they hold onto a Girardi and Staal.

Shouldn't need to protect Skjei as I believe he would meet the definition of 2 seasons or fewer.
Even so, it basically means there would be no sense in re-signing Yandle or making a move to acquire a D.

But I strongly suspect it isn't.

From your lips to God's ears, or whatever the Internet equivalent of that is.
Happy as a clam.
Someone start a new Rangers offseason thread please - this one's run its course... now tainted by Penguins stench... and the season is over.
Its time to look forward to the draft... well not for us... but to (losing) free agents on july 1.
