John Jerry and Marshall Newhouse, Jasper Brinkley, and Cooper Taylor. I like these guys as depth but really hoping for some new names to be penciled in there this time next week. Hopefully we get some players ready to contribute immediately. The draft can't come soon enough!
Geremy Davis could swallow Ben Edwards in two bites. Â
Surprised he didn't get much of a look last year, I watched him a lot at UCONN and he was the best player on that team. I guess that's not saying much... lol
You know, I was trying to be forgiving about the suit, but wtf? He is wearing a short sleeve shirt and the sleeves pass his elbows. It is a bit off.
Yeah. I think he does it on purpose. Certain coaches have quirks like Harbaugh and his kakis, and Belichek with the homeless hoodies, He may want a signature quirk of his own.. so hes gone with XXXL clothes.

Well I think that would be odd. I also think wearing clothes 3 sizes too big is odd. I like the guy...I just don't get it because I can't think of anything easier to fix. It is like he lost a bet or something ...
and things may go back to "predicted" soon, BUT I never understood why media reports ignored Cooper Taylor when they talked about incumbents for the 2nd safety role.
On paper, and in college he has shown a lot of potential for that large center-fielding safety that we'd all love to have.
Today he started behind Landon.
Maybe this is their way of saying we'll give you a shot before we put the "real" starter in, but I hope he pulls a "Lou Gehrig over Wally Pipp" (Berhe or Jackson).
And Thompson at slot?
RE: OK, its only my personal vindication re my opinion re Cooper Â

When I watched Cooper Taylor at the Shrine Game (and practices), I said to myself that I hoped the Giants would draft him. Naturally, I was ecstatic when they did.
But so far he's turning into the next Gerris Wilkinson (another guy I wanted the Giants to draft). Plenty of talent, but injury prone. Drives me nuts.
Mykkele Thompson played CB in college before moving to Safety. I'm just happy he's out there - looking smooth and agile according to reports - after tearing his Achilles last year. Happy...and a little surprised.
What's up he is still hurt hopefully he won't need surgery before the season. These players must all go to liars school where rule one is claim you are 100% even when your still hurt.
Didn't we cut him? Oh, yeah, then brought him back, where he had that one big hit to add to his resume....he's the Moss/Jernigan of safeties.....just when I thought he was gone, they pull him back in.....
This is the conundrum. We need to upgrade the line. They supposedly like Hart but we are often times linked to drafting a tackle high. I don't see how we can go with a right side of Hart and a rookie.
We could always switch either Pugh or Flowers to the right side but that would ruin any cohesion developed on the line.
I prefer Jerry over Newhouse. My hope is that they give Hart a try at tackle and draft a development prospect (mid rounds) at guard.

Olivier Vernon makes quite the imposing figure himself.... Olivier - ( New Window )
They only threw to Davis twice. He caught both of them. Maybe with hard work he could improve on that percentage this year
Davis looks like a TE next to Edwards and Beckham. Nice dreads too. Minicamp photos: Beckham and Co. - ( New Window )
At 6'2"-216 lbs., he was the strongest WR with 23 reps @225, posted 4.18 split/ 6.86 3-cone and he ran a sub 4.5 at his pro day. Lets see if he can step-up this year, we need the replacement for Randle.

is huge in a good way. My favorite signing of the offseason is going to have a huge impact on the entire defense. Hopefully he has Myles Jack playing behind him.

They clearly (IMO) are hoping Hart wins the RT spot, and so it will be Jerry at RG and Hart at RT.

John Jerry lined up with the first team at right guard.

That's the new style: Coach Casual.

Re Cruz: "He’s certainly ready to go if we needed him to go today, but he’s going to go when we deem him ready to go…" (???)
