Something to think about as we enter draft weekend: In 2015 29% of those who played in the NFL last season..were undrafted free agents.

The days after the draft are just as important as the few during it. I think that is especially true for this year. Did a little research and these 38 players were UDFA's who made the Giants roster under Coughlin:

QB Jared Lorenzen

RB DJ Ware
RB James Sims
RB Chris Douglas
RB Robert Douglas
RB Akeem Hunt

FB Henry Hynoski

WR Victor Cruz
WR Duke Calhoun

TE Matt LaCosse
TE Jake Ballard
TE Darcy Johnson
TE Michael Matthews

C Jim Cordle
OT Jason Hilliard
OT Sean Donnelly

LB Cole Farrand
LB Spencer Paysinger
LB Mark Herzlich
LB Chase Blackburn
LB James Maxwell

DE Kerry Wynn
DE Adewale Ojomo
DE Justin Trattou

DT Martin Parker
DT Jeremy Clark

CB Charles James
CB Terrence Frederick
CB Brian Jackson
CB Bruce Johnson
CB Dominique Johnson
DB Geoffrey Pope
CB Kevin Dockery
CB Curtis Deloatch

S Will Hill
S Shareff Rashad
S Craig Dahl
S James Butler

Way too lazy to do a comparison but wondering how you guys think that fares against the rest of the league? Don't seem to do well with UDFA OL, but I'm assuming that's probably normal.
Farrand never made the roster.

Farrand should be the only one. I added him because the data didn't have last years UDFA.

was a UDFA signing who changed his name to Cameron.

TE Larry Donnell
TE Jerome Cunningham
TE Will Tye
WR Julian Talley
LB Unagi Unga

and maybe more unless I'm missing something.
I agree that UDFA's are important.

While as a percentage the number who make it to a roster is less than that of top 3 draft picks for example, plenty do make it, and a few become stars. I've read that the Giants do particularly well in finding UDFA's. (Though cynics amongst us might argue that they need to fill the roster with UDFA's since so many draft picks don't stick.)

RB is a position where quality UDFA's can often be found. While it's unknown if he'll make the final roster, Bobby Rainey was one. There just seems to be a lot RB's with talent, but who don't fit the prototype, or are from a tiny program and are under-scouted.

One guy I like as a potential UDFA RB that I like is Kenneth Farrow out of Houston. I know the Giants know the guy as their scouts have talked with him at both a bowl game and his pro day.

Rugged, solid kid, good size, power and team captain, solid production all of his college career, including against better teams.

"Houston RB Kenneth Farrow probably won't get drafted but should, argues Pro Football Focus.

Over the past two seasons, Farrow had PFF's fourth-highest overall and seventh-highest rushing and receiving grades at his position. On the topic of his passing-game value, Farrow allowed just 10 QB pressures and caught every catchable target over the last two years. Not only that, but he tested really well at Houston's Pro Day. He's thoroughly unsexy, but Farrow could absolutely carve out a solid little NFL career and will likely not cost much to acquire."
