“Some of the most racist things that I’ve ever heard come out of people that are on the air at ESPN. There are some of the biggest racists in sports commentating, and you take it for what it is. You know who they are, you know what they are. I like that they are openly because then you know who they are. You know that they exist.”

It's like we're back in 1690's Salem, MA.
Or the hearing room of the Senate Permanent Subcommittee of Investigations in the early 50's.
What has he said that makes him a racist? Be specific and use his quotes.
So you are using your un-proven prejudices based on limited information you have of someone to draw conclusions and intolerance about them, which is in essence the definition of bigotry.
as long you you're cool to wear that scarlet letter too, feel to toss it around yourself.
ESPN removed baseball analyst Curt Schilling from coverage of the 2015 Major League Baseball season after he retweeted a photo comparing radical Muslims to Nazis.
If Shilling chooses to post a childish picture that his employer believes could offend people and therefore reflect poorly on their brand they have every right to fire him.
They obviously don't feel Kornheirser crossed that line.
was she arresting a criminal?

His former employer thought he was hurting their bottom line by making statements that would offend large parts of their audience and reflect back on them. So they terminated him well within their rights.

Absolutely. I mean, I think Kornheiser crossed the line, but lines do have a certain element of fluidity to them, even for ESPN. But come on, this is ESPN we're talking about; it's not like you can apply common human standards here. The salient point is that it is their absolute right.
Bill, and you may be absolutely correct in that Kornheiser did as well. The thing is even if one assumes that they have chosen poorly they have the right to make all kinds of poor decisions themselves on behalf of their business. Maybe they shouldn't have fired Shilling, maybe they should have fired both of them, who really cares? They are the ones that must live with their decisions, just as Shilling now has to with his.
1. Has had issues with Latino players as a result of mimicing an accent "baseball been berry, berry good to me".
2. He collects Nazi memorabilia - not a crime, of course.
3. Has had issues with Muslims (comparisons to Nazis, suggesting land mines as prayer mats);
4. Has supported the confederate flag on social media;
5. Every Yankee fan was 100 percent right about this assbag;
I suppose we don't know for certain what is in his heart, but bigoted, insensitive and intolerant seem reasonable starting points.

Exactly. But hey don't call him a racist ...
Gimme a break guys.
No I got that, I guess I was just expounding on it all because I just doesn't understand why so many people seem to miss the heart of the whole thing.
It's a business decision right or wrong agree with or not. Everything else becomes noise.

There's been no discrimination against white people, ever, in human history.
Surely you jest.
"We don't want the Irish!"
Let’s make one thing clear right up front. If you get offended by ANYTHING in this post, that’s your fault, all yours.
And for you people too dense to understand this one very important thing. My opinion, 100% mine, and only mine. I don’t represent anyone but myself here, on facebook, on twitter, anywhere.
The meme the world decided to rally behind that I posted months ago. The meme that some of you clowns and more of you spineless looking to be offended folks turned into something it was not. Every one of you gutless cowards, when ‘calling me out’ or calling me a racist, every one of you left out the only word in that entire meme that mattered. You had to, otherwise you’d have had to go elsewhere to find offense and create something out of nothing. Let me help you now. All of you fraudulent media folks, you lazy ass “don’t actually want to work for a story” clowns. The word you left out? the ONLY word that mattered? EXTREMIST. That word being omitted creates two completely different posts with two very different meanings. I don’t dislike or hate Muslims, or people of the Islamic faith. Ask my friends that are both. But then again you all knew that, but when you omit the word extremist you create a person that doesn’t exist and have a story with traction, even if it is a complete lie.
This latest brew ha ha is beyond hilarious. I didn’t post that ugly looking picture. I made a comment about the basic functionality of mens and womens restrooms, period.
See here’s the thing. I do NOT care what color you are, what race, what sex, who you sleep with, what you wear. I don’t care and I never have. I have opinions, but they’re just that, opinions. And opinions are like buttholes, everyone has one and they usually stink.
You know how I know you ‘offended’ people are full of crap? Because I’m not even close to any of the things you so desperately want me to be, so you can whine.
I’m loud, I talk too much, I think I know more than I do, those and a billion other issues I know I have. Like everyone one of you I have flaws, but I’m ok with my flaws, they’re what make me, me. I thank the Lord for the life I’ve been given. A life interspersed and occupied by men and women who are gay, by people of all races and religions, by men and women who dress as the other, by men and women who’ve changed to women and men. Not one decision I’ve ever made about a person has anything to do with those things I just mentioned, nor will it ever.
You frauds out there ranting and screaming about my ‘opinions’ (even if it isn’t) and comments are screaming for “tolerance” and “acceptance” while you refuse to do and be either.
YOU’RE the ones making it the issue. I don’t care, if you ask me about any of the topics it’s likely (much to the chagrin of many) I’ll answer with my opinion.
There are things I have deeply held beliefs in, things I have that are core to who I am, things I am passionate about. If you ask me about them it’s likely I’ll give you a passionate answer, whether you like that answer or not is completely up to you. I am not going to give you answers to make sure you like what I say, let the rest of the insecure world do that.
But let me reiterate, I don’t care who, what, where or why you are who you are. I care about people and how they treat others. You will NEVER in your lives find a single person who’s met me/knows me who would ever say I treated them as anything other than a human. None.
Wouldn’t you assume that all of you offended folks would have heard of me treating people the way you needed me to treat them, to be what you so desperately want me to be?
If people want to create stories or impressions where there are none, and you want/need to get offended by them that’s on you.
But for now, if you want to be offended and have that offense be by something you THINK you interpreted or you THINK you heard, go for it.
But for the love of God stop making crap up, it’s boring and it’s stupid and there are actual causes that need attention such as homeless veterans and our archaic education system.
Two benefits of this I didn’t forsee. 1) Twitter has made their “Block” far easier to use 2) You find out who your friends are when folks create crisis about you, that actually aren’t.
I appreciate the general civility on the polarizing topic, but I'm going to get back to work and be distracted only by draft stuff.
"Its said only 5-10 percent of Muslims are Extremists...
In 1940, only 7% of Germans were Nazis, How'd that go?"
How is that racist or not even factual?
It is when a dishonest press and PC police restate it that Schilling compared all Muslims to Nazi's dropping the extremist part.

giant, just stop. The picture had the word ONLY in big capital letters, with red lettering. And also, it just wasn't factual. 10% of muslims are not extremists. Not even 5 percent are.

Isn't it also simple human decency NOT to refer to someone who has done nothing to you as "cracker"?
OK, sure. But again, if someone calls me a cracker, I don't really care. There's been no discrimination against white people, ever, in human history. If someone calls a black person the n word, they are a racist, and pretty much a terrible person.
"I don't think Curt Schilling is a racist."
One of the most wide ranging polls of Muslims worldwide support the 5-10% of extremist views.
Pew Research poll page 142: "a global median of 8% of Muslims say such attacks (suicide bombings and other forms of violence against civilian targets) are sometimes justified to defend Islam.

How many people in the US would be classified as extremist under a similar methodology?
Trump has said some pretty "extremist" things, particularly in regard to Muslims, and he has better than 8% support.

Agree
DING DING DING DING DING

Poll states 8% feel that suicide bombings and attacks against civilians are sometimes justified. In other words, murder.
Are you actually making an equivalency between Trump wingnuts and support of violence against civilians?? Holy
Everything the man said is 100% correct.
Liberals are the most hateful thing going, disgrace
