About three weeks ago you made a statement that NYG might be looking to get rid of DRC (not for play) but for off the field reasons. Anything new? Does VHIII come into play? To me the obvious answer is yes.

I'll defer to hitdog on that one. Only thing I'll say is some of the beat writers have picked up on it.

I'm a fan of DRC. And I don't personally think he is going anywhere this year. Now had they seriously pursued Norman...
Drafting a CB high makes sense to me

An eventual replacement for DRC and someone who can play the slot to develop.
It's fun to watch
averagejoe : 4/28/2016 11:11 am : link
Every pick is a great pick and every first round player will have an immediate impact. Except one third of them will be total busts and two thirds will be out of the league in two years.

It's still good theater and gives us something to flap our gums about until the season starts.
I think they did go after Norman
Carl in CT : 4/28/2016 11:14 am : link
But Washington went all in (per Washington Post) sent private jet etc brought him in didn't let him leave and gave $50m guaranteed. I would love a WR, a right tackle, some LB's, but our philosophy has always been pass rushers and of late premium corners. I wanted Jack or a pass rusher, hated Floyd. I new they liked Conklin in January (per a Conklin source). I'm going VH.

VHIII should never come into play. Never understood why Eddie thought Gary Cherone was a good fit.

getting rid of DRC would be idiotic. what are his off the field issues? I haven't heard of anything.

JonC : 4/28/2016 11:34 am : link
he's 30, having some concussion issues, at some point it is wise to get his replacement in the pipeline, and VH (or Apple) would fit.

I think it's more that most fans realize that there are many positions on this team that are thin and some rate others as a higher priority in their opinion. I'd have no problem with VH or Apple at 10 myself.
Where aren't we thin?

why signing Powers before the draft would have been a really smart idea. It doesn't impact our draft at all, but still gives us a player in case we don't get an NFL ready CB in the draft (unlikely).

Does having a number of average players count? Because if so, RB is LOADED.
Corner is a big problem
Marty866b : 4/28/2016 11:49 am : link
We are in a nickle almost 70% of the snaps and we only have two corners. Hargreaves or a trade down for one of the other corners makes a lot of sense. We need a corner much more then a developmental linebacker.
I always thought back in January
Bobby Humphrey's Earpad : 4/28/2016 11:49 am : link
that Hargreaves would be the pick at 10. Obviously now it doesn't look certain at all.

As of this morning the order I'm getting is:

Ramsey
Tunsil
Jack
Buckner
Floyd
Lawson
Treadwell/Darron Lee

No Stanley, No Conklin, No Elliot and No Bosa- not at 10 at least.

And as we know I'm here like Tom Hanks in castaway on an Island saying Jack will be the pick if he is there at 10.

He seems to be taking a weird fall (now mocked in mid teens regularly) even though nothing has really changed about him in months.

FWIW, I really hope you're right. Because if the Giants take Jack it means he checked out medically for them.
Thanks Limerick; trade up?

it'll be enticing if somehow tunsil falls to 6 range...do they do it?
Team is looking for impact players
UberAlias : 4/28/2016 11:55 am : link
Some of the names mentioned don't fit the bill. They have their targets, will be aggressive if they have to.

Don't assume the norm. This draft is more critical, so we've heard.

an asshat remark at all.

But if I was living in a bunker for 2 months and looked at our roster right now and what we did and didn't do in free agency, I would be sure we would draft a WR in the first round.

That means Ramsey, Buckner or Tunsil on a trade up, Jack & Floyd at 10, and the others on a trade down. Is that about right?

I would bet we go with one in round 2. IS Treadwell, Coleman, Doctson that much better than Thomas, Shephard, Boyd?

What is that based on? I think most fans realize we're one injury away from from being in deep shit.

ANGPASS : 4/28/2016 12:01 pm : link
if we go OL tonight.

2013 - Pugh 19th overall
2014 - Richburg - 2nd round
2015 - Flowers - 9th overall
2016 - OL??

If we go OL, we better have a top run game and OL in the league. If we are 15th or below in rushing, this will all be a waste.
BTW
Eric from BBI : Admin : 4/28/2016 12:01 pm : link
I've had one beat writer e-mail me and say Limerick is way off. Not picking sides here, but you guys know what the beat writers have heard.
the whole
dep026 : 4/28/2016 12:02 pm : link
beat writes vs. limerick is down to 2 things.

Limerick being completely wrong or Giants purposely leaking info to beat writers to keep other teams off who they really want. I think its pretty much that simple.
If Limerick
Giantophile : 4/28/2016 12:03 pm : link
is right, and I hope he is, will all the people freaking out about our "leaky" organization admit they jumped the gun and complained for no reason?

If Jack is the pick, the Giants will have deployed a hell of a smokescreen and Raanan will have some egg on his face.
So in a draft that is admittedly more important that usual
UberAlias : 4/28/2016 12:04 pm : link
The targets are well known by all, in advance to everyone with hardly any disagreement. Hmmm....

Not me, the OL makes everything else work on offense. I would rather spend the pick on OL than WR or RB.
