time of 4.63. But that’s not his game. He dominates defenders physically, not with speed. Jarvis Landry ran a 4.77. Boldin a 4.72. Those players seem like exceptions. You’d have to hope Treadwell could be one as well. Gruesome leg injury, but that was 2014, and he definitely came back strong last year. Hard worker. Leader. Reese may think he’s Dez Bryant without the attitude, or a better version of Hakeem Nicks.
In 2011, the New York Giants won a Super Bowl with a rapidly deteriorating offensive line (dead last running the ball, tackles who were getting beat on the pass rush), a terrible defense, and all-star play from their QB and two WR's. OL is very important. But the Giants NEED another top flight WR.

Ideally, they need to come out of the first three rounds with a starting WR and RT. Whether they will we will know by Saturday.
RE: If Treadwell was Dez 2.0 he isn't going mid first. He's Â
Positives:
Elusive, great first step, excellent coverage skills, sheds blocks easily, can't be pushed off the point of attack. Can disrupt offenses with his ability to get in the quarterback's face.
Negatives:
Disappears for long stretches in games, not a sure tackler, avoids contact, unimpressive measurables. Needs to add weight for the pro game.
The Giants aren't going to take an OT in rounds 1 or 2. They are going to trade a conditional 2017 pick for Anthony Davis. Just speculation on my part but I remember they liked him back in the draft and he is young and would come pretty cheap. Also Reese is likely to make a bold move since he is on the hot seat and you don't get a chance to acquire a talent like Davis often for such a low price.
"Weaknesses:
Route running is still suspect
Rounds off digs and deep outs
Not very fast
Lacks deep speed
Could be more elusive
Doesn't always generate maximum YAC
Needs to eat up cushion more quickly in off man
Needs to work on reading coverages as he does not always identify the zone
A little sluggish coming out of breaks"

And I don't discount that he is not a burner, but just consider this for a moment.
Separation is not created off straight line speed, it's the change of direction (agility) and route running skill that generates separation. By all accounts, Treadwell is a good route runner and is extremely quick for a 6'2" WR. His negatives are his 40 and his vertical, but he has long arms and sticky hands. There is a lot to like with this kid. This is a case of trust your eyes, not the 40 time. On paper Randle was a mode explosive WR than Treadwell. Watch highlights of the two p!Ayers. Anyone think the measurements translated into reality? No they didn't, because Randle was a subpar route runner (didn't finish his routes) and rarely won the battle in tight spaces (not agile). Also Randle never seemed to know how to use his large frame to his benefit. He was a 6'2" WR that p!ayed like a 5'9" WR. Treadwell is a big, physical, agile, polished WR with a comparative streak. What's not to like?
He also plays the game like he wants to rip your fucking head off, which I love.
If we somehow picked up an extra 2nd or 3rd AND got Treadwell, I'd do backflips.
For the record, I'd also be just fine taking him at 10
If you wish to pair Beckham with a physical guy, Treadwell is a good match. The kid is only 20 could become a beast. Certainly, will never call him soft. I've grown to appreciate his game but would be some what surprised if NYG pick him at 10.
Strange draft very few elite type players (who don't have an injury concern). Mostly it's players that have elite qualities. So who knows?
In all seriousness tho, if there was a year for smoke, this is the one. Our best value is in players falling and there is a team very willing to trade just in front of us. Possibly 2. If floyd and hargreaves are still on the board and chicago wants to leapfrog us the bucks might be open to that if elliot is going to be the pick
Floyd then Conklin-
The giants like treadwell but the grade is Lower - is my guess
Hitdog
Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't you initially suggest that they loved Ramsey and Hargreaves but felt they would be gone? Thusly Floyd was the target?
Do you expect Floyd if Hargreaves is on the board?
After free agency hardgreavea was the first name floated early- as they want another Db.
That was mega early
Since then it's been Floyd and then the "Conklin over Stanley" and the "Jack is not in mix". Then "Elliott moving up but unsure where" - and they like treadwell but not at 10.
All of that leads to today where it's Floyd then Conklin - in my humbled view

Realistically I think we agree on Floyd. I'd put it at 70% that he is the pick. I have absolutely heard his name as being in the top of their "2nd tier" and probably is the guy right now the Giants anticipate grabbing.
The only thing that could throw a wrench into it is if Jack is available (or Buckner or Tunsil somehow).
Hitdog and I are on the same page except I keep hearing NYG don't want another 1st round OL to pay down the road and want to use Pugh, Richburg and Flowers as the base.
As for Jack maybe hitdog sources don't think he will be there or maybe they are in the Ranaan camp who say he isn't even an option.
Literally nobody knows. We will soon though!!!!!
And FYI. It is entirely possible I'm being fed bad info. I was always honest about that I don't know Jerry Reese personally but I just don't see why a friend of mine from college would purposely give me info. He doesn't know about BBI or my alter ego TLG.
And I'm still hearing Ramsey, Tunsil, Jack/Buckner.
That's nice and all, but come on! Not one of those guys will be available at 10. Jack is the only slim possibility. Almost no chance, but if there, run to take him.

Your information and that of all the other “asshats” is very much appreciated. This is true regardless of who is right or wrong. As you note, we’ll know soon anyways.
I don't like taking him this early, but if he is the guy you want you take him at 10 and you don't get cute with trade downs.
I can see waiting on O-Line with so many picks used early recently. I see a ton of value on the D-Line in later rounds. We have been quiet in FA with WRs...not that we didn't sign anyone but we really didn't even look at anyone IIRC.
The grinder in me wants Conklin, but another poster on another thread said something that I agreed with. Do you really need a top RT in a quick hitting WC offense? Probably not...Tredwell in Round One. Devon Cajuste Round 5. No more Red Zone problems...
That's pretty much exactly what he is...to me anyway.
Ideally, they need to come out of the first three rounds with a starting WR and RT. Whether they will we will know by Saturday.
False - Bryant went 24th in the first round. He didn't come without flaws.
Elusive, great first step, excellent coverage skills, sheds blocks easily, can't be pushed off the point of attack. Can disrupt offenses with his ability to get in the quarterback's face.

IMO, too risky at pick number ten.

Swing and a miss champ. Not the point at all.
I believe Hitdog has been saying Floyd all along.
1 Floyd
2 Conklin or Elliot
Excuse me?

Info sharper than a Mo Vaughn single to right.
Slade is an imposter.
LimerickGuy is getting fed bad info.
I guess the Giants are more confident than I am that Ramsey and Tunsil will be an option at 10.
If that happens, I think they go Treadwell.
