He seems bigger and stronger than his opponents. I have not seen anyone get by him yet. He is probably too f he doesn't realize how good a position he's in some cases. You asked ...
20. It is funny that most mocks I saw had Apple going to the Steelers at 25 saying he was a solid pick.
I see a lot of Terrell Thomas and Webster in him. I'll take that in a 1st rounder.
It is funny you say that. I said the same thing about both Prince and Eli Apple. They both feel or felt like Steeler picks and someone that goes on to be a solid pro. That said, this tape reinforces what Mayock was saying which was he saw some inconsistency in the tape.

Most years, I'll take that as well. But, when you've had the last few years the Giants have had, you have a top 10 pick, and you have a few immediate needs and you walk away with an OK player who just about everyone had going toward the end of the round, you didn't do your job.

Well we dont know what kind of player he will be. And where everyone else had him ranked means nothing if he turns into a very good player. I remember similar sentiments being expressed about Travis Frederick. A good player who was a reach and he may have been one of the steals of that draft.
Apple could be our version. We wont know for another year or two, but plenty of players exceed draft expectations and plenty fall short. If he turns into a very good corner, his draft value is meaningless. The only thing that matters is getting a good player.
1) He did not say before the draft. He could well have been the top CB when Pick #10 came around
2) Jalen Ramsey was not expected to fall out of Top 4, even Tunsil there were mocks with him in 6-8 range. What I am getting at is he was probably not on the main board. Every team has a few guys who they know won't be around under any circumstance but still keep separate for that one in a billion chance or to aid the pro scouts when they become UFA.
3) Although VH3 was my #2 CB, I could see how a team who thought highly of Apple's upside would rank him behind only Ramsey at CB
didn't do us any favors (even if I'm glad Floyd was gone). I think the Floyd pick left us scrambling and when we couldn't find a trade down partner, we went with the player on the board we had targeted at an area of need who didn't have red flags. I like Apple better than Hargreaves.
Here's the thing - even if we overdrafted him, he wasn't going to be there in the 2nd round, so I don't see the hand wringing. We had a #10 pick in a draft without 10 Blue chippers. It happens. Because it is a flat draft, I could see positions 7-25 pretty much being interchangeable.
A downgrade from Amukamura at ten. Terrific.

The defense just got better!
MAYBE Apple can be taught to keep his hands off receivers, else he'll be giving up a lot of interference calls in the pros.
