DRC replacement down the road. My only question is (and yes I know I wasn't in the "war room") if we had Floyd,Conklin as priorities on our board, why didn't JR trade up instead of watching consecutive teams move ahead of us & take those 2 players? Apple will get better, very young, so now let's see what direction we take with #2 & #3.
The team has a huge hole on the right side of the O-Line, the best OL (and arguably the highest rated player in the draft) is sitting there at 10, and instead the team picks a project CB that they could have traded back and picked up. They fired the wrong guy this off-season.

Reese said he looked into it, and they decided the price was too steep.

We know the price was a 4th & JR was willing to do that for LC last year so I always find it hard to ever believe anything JR says. I watched him on MSG Network after our pick & he had "the shakes" again as he tried to explain his "take" on why he did what he did, just like he did during TC's "retirement" PC. Let's see what happens today
world class speed -- good height - and fluid movements and hips -- there were numerous issues around the other highly ranked prospects.
I like Hargreaves - but his height and coverage of tall receivers was suspect -- Apple solves that problem
I liked Treadwell but he had flaws too.
No way the Giants were going to pick Tunsil - that was broadcast already -- very telling that Stanley was drafted first and then Tenn moved up to take Conklin after being linked with Tunsil for months
If the Giants had Apple ranked higher than Hargreaves then he was the right pick at 10
He did well against strong competition, and most of the players he was going up against were older. At 20 you have to believe there's a lot more growth in his game ahead
To Yay after reading some interesting pre-draft analyses.
My Nay was also based on the belief that they could have gotten him with a lower pick. But the claims by the Giants that he wouldn't have lasted and no decent trades are offered also affected my switch.
I was initially thinking WTF....but Apple was not a guy I had heard much chatter about. You can't change how the top of the draft panned out with Tunsil and Jack falling out of favor. I will trust the Giants followed their board.
Not talking about the moving down comment but the prospect of moving up if indeed either Floyd or Conklin was their #1 choice. Titans flipped first round picks & gave a 3rd but their 1st was 15th. Bears traded a 4th for the 9th & flipped 1sts
since I didn't follow college football or the draft this year, but whether he is a star like odell or a bust like cedric jones will only be judged in 5 years.

A very safe vanilla pick that was better suited for the 18th -26th slot in the draft
Very happy with the pick, and feel that fans will warm up to him quickly.
