I made a chart to see how Sy's top-graded players stacked up so far. One thing that jumps out is that Sy graded Eli Apple near the very top of all players in the draft. The chart shows only players with grades of 80 and above, and I apologize for any errors.
The first number is Sy's grade. The last number is where they were drafted.

one of them is Eli Apple...
Looking at this chart....damn he's good! look at the grade he has for Tunsil. Look where he went. Very interesting stuff.
He kills in interviews and seems to be a smart, great kid. Looked great at the combine as well, if that means anything.
BTW did anyone in round one take the guy with the bad knee??
Nope.... oh...
Umm... Margin of error?? This is a normal distribution of a sample of what??
And CT you should be his agent ;)
That's the case for every system and every player. I keep thinking back the The year Revis got chosen. OBJ was no ones top rated WR. Watkins was. Now Apple could be are Revis or he could be Ross. Who knows. The hand wringing on what a reach this kid is a bit much. Especially given The Giants penchant for picking DBs early. They've grabbed FAs but
Before. Last few weeks. Pretty simple. Apple is instant!y the biggest CB on the team. Hargreaves can not replace DRC in a yeast or two schematically. I'm one of the biggest Reese critics on this site and to me it was a solid pick looking at talent and need. This year and in a few.
Let's all hope that Sy'56 did a really good job rating players this year;)
It was funny but I felt like the Giants were going to go DE or CB in the first round and when I read Sy's take on Apple I thought, ok, I like this guy. After having a great undersized talent in Prince, it would be great to get a bigger CB who can cover the bigger WR's in the league now. And by the way I couldn't have been more wrong or happier if they were able to get Conklin or Floyd (I'm in the linebacker happy camp).
If we "reached" for Apple, then what do you call what they did to take Floyd??
The mayhem on here last night after Apple was the pick (minus a few logical voices) was pretty funny. And sad.
There are still some good players left on the board, so this could be a good draft.
Offense
Hunter Henry TE
Sterling Sheppard WR
Jason Spriggs OT
Charone Peake WR
Kenneth Dixon RB
Defense
Jarren Reed DT
Jonathan Bullard DT
Since we pick 9th there is no assurance we can get one of these, but with the unpredicability increasing in round two, I think the chances are very good.

Thanks. Well, now I feel even better about this Apple pick.
