Your third CB is not a back-up. He's a starter.

So you better have a legit third CB or S.

11 personnel or 3 wide receiver offensive sets are played approximately 60 percent of the NFL snaps..

which means your third corner is playing 60% of the time.. Thats a starter..

You remember when the Giants has this guy named Victor Cruz a few years back who torched the NFL for 1500 yards mostly playing as a SLOT receiver.. yeah.. thats the third receiver on the field.. so um you kinda need three corners..

for him to learn the defense and get experience this year. He will be a great #3 and has time to develop into a #2 or #1. If people stay healthy.

doesn't start (which he will, or at least he will play a lot) I still like the pick. CB is a premium position and he was the highest rated one in the draft on their board. Most likely near the top of the second tier. Why take another position that you don't have nearly rated as high? Especially if CB is a need? Smart and safe pick.

This new version of Reese and co wants to take high floor, high ceiling guys that love football and are clean players. Apple fits that mold.

McAdoo has already said Jerry,baring Hart beating him out is the starter.

Flowers is our LT. So we would have potentially drafted Tunsil to start at RT.
It's quite obvious (as the night goes on) that Tunsil has a shit ton of baggage. The Giants didn't want to deal with that. Not at the 10th pick.

Prince was an injury waiting to happen. We didn't re-sign him because he couldn't stay healthy. We picked up his 5th year option to see if he could "reverse the curse," but it didn't happen. All in all, he appeared in 55 out of a possible 80 games. Why is this difficult for you to understand? Not only is he injury prone ... he wanted to get paid like a starting CB - most of his career he didn't start (injured).

In addition to the injury bug. Prince doesn't have the skills to play as a slot corner. Apple can play the slot and outside.

Yeah. Was a little surprised by some of the stuff Prince pulled this year year. Skipping out on his radio gig was a Shockey move and then lying about it didn't sound like him. I think not getting that extension last year was more of an issue than many may have known. Those cryptic tweets should have been a give away.

65% of the snaps, but he's insurance right now against one of the starters going down and he'll also be getting that much needed experience. I think he's going to be a good one with solid coaching. I'm not worried about the pick at all. If he learns how to grab a receiver and let go, he'll be ok.
