Remember the Shockey draft?

In 2002, we held the 15th spot in the draft, and right in front of us were the Titans. The Titans call the Giants, let them know that someone is interested in their pick, and offer it up, pretty certain that we would give up our 4th rounder in an attempt to secure Jeremy Shockey.

This year - the Bears leapfrog one spot ahead of us to land Leonard Floyd, who we were linked to for quite some time leading up to the draft.

So we've had it both ways; we know how the Shockey situation turned out, and now hope that Eli Apple outperforms Leonard Floyd.

Which would you have preferred, given the possibility of only these two outcomes - giving up a 3rd or 4th to secure Floyd, or staying put as we did and selecting Apple?
I'm not going to lie, Floyd is an intriguing prospect

due to his insane athleticism and body type. He is a guy that I think could have helped us, but at the same time, I'm relieved we weren't the team to roll the dice. It's not that I think he won't be a very good player for somebody, but we really need to nail this year's pick, and we came out with a guy that is clean, has a solid body of work, young, and checks off all the physical measurables.
Hail Chicago for moving up and picking that bust

But I doubt the giants were going to pick that stick legged stiff. Hope JR doesn't screw the pooch on the rest of the draft
And Tennessee took Albert Haynesworth with the 15th pick....

Only time will tell between Conklin, Floyd, Apple, and Hargreaves. I'm sure it will be revisited plenty on BBI over the coming years.
Correct only time will tell.

I REALLY did not see a football player in Floyd so happy with how that turned out.
