Can we just Fire Marc Ross and Reese...

jripper420 : 4/29/2016 6:59 am
...already...god it's soooo frustrating watching these two arrogant asshats talk...Ross said we've reached before...No shit...Look at using a #2 a few years back on a QB who hasn't played a snap...Or the 40 players you've selected in rounds 3-8 that aren't even in the league anymore. Mara has his head up his you know what, definitely fired the wrong people...Here he his ladies and gents Eli Apple. A guy so inconsistent that we would be the only team stupid enough to draft him at 10 when we have a patchwork offensive line every year and linebackers who wouldn't scare a cheerleading squad. Un f'n believable....But yeah according to Ross and Reese it will be all ok because they are going to hit on every other player taken in this draft...Brutal...
Nope

Both are here for next 10-15 years or so. Long after both Elis (Manning & Apple are retired).

Very sad indeed.
When did we use a #2 on a QB

The sad part is...
jripper420 : 4/29/2016 7:17 am : link
Every other NFC East team got better last night except for us. philly got their QB of the future, Cowboys probably landed the best RB prospect since Peterson to go along with their monster line and the best answer Reese had was to draft a CB when we just threw how much a Jenkins?? I am all for wanting to be cautious but passing on Tunsil was just stupid and there is no one left at tackle and linebacker in this draft who will be a difference maker day 1. They had no problem wasting a second on a backup QB years ago, this year they got fleeced by Chicago and Tampa. Well played Reese and Ross well played...Get ready for another year of endless sacks on our QB, an inconsistent horrible run game and the weakest playmaking linebackers in the game.

Take it up with the media. That's how they see Elliot. But anyways it's no biggy because we have the four headed monster of no one

The Eagles gave up a crapload of picks for someone who could be the next Rick Mirer. Ezekiel Elliott is not the best RB since Peterson and they will need the O because their D will challenge fhe 2015 Giants in terms of futility. They have maybe 1 DE on the roster all year and an aging, expensive secondary. Dallas also signed Alfred Morris in offseason. Elliott was a fancy luxury that they may not be able to afford

Can we put this up as the dumbest comment of 2016?
Wait...

You're going to get on the giants for drafting a #2 QB who hasn't seen a snap with Eli at the helm? Your credibility just went out the window.

I'm not sure if we took the right guy last night, I hope he works out.

But this whole "I'm so sick of this team I'm just about at the end of my rope I can't take it anymore" nonsense?

Good grief.
Nassib
BocaGiants91 : 4/29/2016 7:35 am : link
Was a Fourth round pick, they never used a second rounder on a backup quarterback. Patriots use a pick like that on a backup for Brady for development purposes every so often, it's not unheard of.

Pats and Seahawks also tend to have unique boards. In any trade down you have to weigh the return versus the difference in players available. Usually for Seahawks and Pats there is no difference. You look at Kiwanuka trade down it was because they felt no difference in quality between 25 and 32. If there was a clear drop after Apple I could see being reticent to trade down
Jerry Reese.....
The Candyman : 4/29/2016 7:45 am : link
The appeal of his name cannot be under valued. Fits perfect in the NY market and will bring this young man countless endorsement opportunities. His number we be recognized throughout the metro area as his back will be facing the masses as he chases the opposing receiver flailing his arms .

Ok...it's common sense. You pass on all free agent linebackers and tackles and you draft a corner...who needs a resume...

Nice job deflecting. There are a number of LB still on the board comparable to what we would have had at 10. If we land Jack or Ragland does that change things? Giants did a lot of research on Ole Miss players this offseason. If they felt that Tunsil was the next Kwame Harris, I don't blame them for passing
Yes..
FatMan in Charlotte : 4/29/2016 8:14 am : link
because picking a corner in a pass happy league sure sucks.....

It is like people are making shit up just to cry in their Wheaties, which they've also already pissed in by the way.

PaulBlakeTSU : 4/29/2016 8:24 am : link
the one lacking common sense is you. It's one thing to be pessimistic or disappointed-- but to be outraged? To have such strong opinions over something that you know hardly anything about is laughable.
Get ready for a stretch
Mendenhall : 4/29/2016 8:41 am : link
similar to the 70's. Eli will keep them at 7 or 8 games for the next 3 years, then once he's gone they will spend at least a decade finding his replacement. Reese is clearly not the guy to get them there.
7 CB's were selected last night....
Rick in Dallas : 4/29/2016 8:46 am : link
This is a passing offense league now. Draft CB's and DE's to defend against the passing game. Please relax and see who we pick today which will define our 2016 draft.
Passing

How exactly after only one round of the draft and never have even watched that player in one practice can last night justify anyone being fired?

Steve
PaulBlakeTSU : 4/29/2016 11:29 am : link
because most fans who watch the draft develop emotional connections to guys that are often repeated by "experts" who are not experts but just echo what they hear as well. And then the fans watch a few highlights, think they are scouts, and use irrational behavior to make heavy-handed comments about the decisions that were made.
The over reactions
NJGiantFan84 : 4/29/2016 11:35 am : link
Are always entertaining and people never learn. The draft is not an exact science. Just because Kiper had him ranked as a low first rounder doesnt make it a bad pick. Draft value is meaningless once they step on the field.

People said the same shit about Travis Frederick, laughing at the Cowboys. How did that one turn out?? All that matters is getting a good player. Do that and you do your job. We wont know until he starts playing and still may not know until next year.

in the first round, these guys come in for interviews.

How many of you got jobs or hired people just based on a resume without a face-to-face interview? I wouldn't hire someone without an interview nor would I expect someone to hire me without one. They matter.

But let's just live and die with what windbags like Mel Kiper and newspaper beat writers think.

Funny thing is people ignore the rumors that Kiper has connections with agents and hypes their guys, like he did with Jimmy Clausen. Drafting is not an exact science. Good "value" picks are busts and poor "value" picks have success every year. Fans dont learn from the past. Its a gamw of wait and see.
