Mets have won 6 straight.
Conforto getting praise all around the league.
Is he a young Barry Bonds, without as much power? a talent evaluator asked after studying Conforto. But he might show more power as time goes on.
Wright saying he got out of sorts by relying on a subtle leg kick. Working on adjustment.
Jake Peavy takes on Steven Matz at Citi tonight!

Im pumped, going to my first game of the year tomorrow afternoon. Looking forward to getting my Syndergaarden Gnome!!
Cant wait ti play the Marlins
I know I come here and intervene on some NL east talk and joke around from time to time. But I think people are really underestimating whats going on in Philly right now. They are a lot better than people think. Just a bunch of young guys who play hard. Their OF defense ranks up there with any team in baseball. Herrera, Burjous, and Lough are really fast and really good out there. Their only weak defender is Howard.
Offensively, they struggle at times, but they really do battle. Herrera has turned into a OBP machine. Franco wiull become a stud if he learns he doesnt have to hit a ball 500 feet every time. The rest of the team is fair at best, but usually one or two guys come through a game. Yesterday it was Rupp, the othr day it was Burjous, or Galvis.
Plus, Williams will be up playing LF soon. Knapp should be taking over at 1B as well. And of course their best prospect, Crawford, will be up either late this year or next year.
I dont expect them to win anything this year, but I made a predicition that they will be closer to .500 than people think and I am sticking with it.
Dee:Though I did not do so knowingly,I have been informed that test results showed I ingested something that contained prohibited substances
Mets OF prospect (&final piece of Dickey trade) Wuilmer Becerra reached base 4 times for @stluciemets last night. Hitting .385 over last 10.
Impressive

They are a lot better than people give them credit for. They should be an above 500 team
Mets 3B David Thompson just hit his 2nd homer of the season for @ColaFireflies. Now has 25 RBI which is more than anyone in affiliated ball.
Happy Birthday, Gary Cohen! The @Mets broadcaster turns 58 today.
Yoenis Cespedes: 8
Hunter Pence: 6
Cameron Rupp: 5
Gregory Polanco: 4
Michael Conforto: 4
Oh come on did you honestly expect the guy to hit .430 all season?
Of course it would drop at some point but he is still 3rd in the league at .370. Not exactly worthy of mocking.

Still .410. Not surprising his average is sinking like a lead balloon as of late.

The point is his BABIP is so high he isn't likely to be leading anything before long. I fully expect him to regress back to the mean. Also, he only has 2 HR so I guess so much for the unlocked power.
He wanted dearly to remain a NY Met and was left no option but to sign elsewhere and then proceeded to get off to the hottest start in all the league but now has cooled off which everyone knew would happen at some point.
I guess I don't understand the need to try and tear the guy down at the first opportunity.
The rest I agree with though. I have no ill will towards him. I do find it humorous how many Mets fans were ready to jump off a ledge after the week of the season though (not necessarily here).
Team: high Class A St. Lucie (Florida State)
Age: 20
Why Hes Here: .375/.407/.750 (9-for-24), 2 R, 1 2B, 1 3B, 2 HR, 12 RBIs, 1 BB, 5 SO
The Scoop: Rosario is a talented prospect, but when the Mets jumped the teenager to the Florida State League last year after he spent 2014 in the short-season New York-Penn League, the move proved to be too ambitious. He was able to tread water in 2015, but his modest performance didnt reflect his considerable upside. Back in the FSL for round two, Rosario is off to a terrific start. He already has three home runs after going without a homer the entire 2015 season. The minors are chock full of talented shortstops off to excellent starts, but Rosarios stock is certainly up as his game performance starts to break through. (BB)

Yeah I was envisioning something like last year where maybe he just gets called up for a cup of coffee or a playoff run or something. Still, even that's unlikely.

Very good lineup. A true test for our pitchers. Should be fun.
