Ravens tried to trade up for Ellliot

bigblue12 : 4/29/2016 9:22 am
Per NFL Network, the Ravens tried to trade up to 4 but wouldn't tell the Cowboys who they wanted. Turns out it was Elliot. Interesting.
Again, he might turn into another AP (impact-wise),

but Aside from Jamal Lewis and AP (and perhaps someone else I'm blanking on), who has been a difference-maker at the RB position the last 20 years?

They did rather well with the backs they had and no Romo for most of the year..I'm glad they didn't address at 4 their more glaring needs imo

Marshawn Lynch was a difference maker in Seattle. They'd have 2 rings if Carroll didn't get cute.

Though I agree. Glad they didn't go D.
I wish they did..

Not looking forward to seeing this guy twice a year.
Jerry didn't want...

to disappoint the grandkids and the 35 other family members packed in the war room.
Elliot's a good player, but let's face it - at 4, they were getting

a good player. But who knows what they might have been able to do dropping down a few spots and picking up an extra pick.

Not to mention - IMO, they would have been better off adding Ramsey to that defense than Elliot to that OL. That OL was built to turn a pedestrian RB into a solid player, they probably were better off going with the FS and picking up the RB in a later round.

Ladanian Tomlinson, Marshall Faulk are 2 that immediately come to mind. Not sure what your definition of difference-maker would be though.

How many rings did Dallas win with D.Ware? How many has Houston won with JJ Watt? One good player on defense is not going to make a difference when Offense cannot hold onto the ball. Now I agree, defense wins championships. The year Dallas defense was supposed to be the worse ever, it actually was not terrible. Why? Because we controlled the clock most games with DeMarco. Did I want this pick? No because I don't believe RBs are worth top 5 picks, but it's not a terrible pick either.
Gurley seemed like that special RB

Now, I am bias against Elliot....as RBs from Stud college teams with stud OL, with Stud WRs.....seem to be over rated.

do not like the 400 carries either....

I stand by the fact I am happy they do not ramsey

has to be a bit of hyperbole
we have seen gamebreakers like
Barry Sanders
LaDanian Tomlinson
Marshall Faulk
Dallas has a great line

So even a Marion Barber woud look all world
I don't believe this for a second

it had to be Ramsey the Ravens wanted.
