I don't buy that narrative/leak/speculation until I see it. they'll save 4.5M on the cap with 4M dead. so if you net that out, you need another CB who can put up similar production for $4M.

ive asked a few times about this and it hasn't been elaborated on at all. What is the issue with DRC. The way he played last year showed he is a top flight corner IMO and it would be a mistake to let him go. Does he have big issues off the field?

I think even if you put the rumors aside, the fact that the guy has to leave just about every game with some sort of injury combined with his age means you start planning for that eventuality now.

after this season, I don't get it - unless as alluded to there are off-field or behavioral issues we don't know about, but in NY I'd be surprised, we usually know when someone doesn't pay a parking ticket.

You basically need 3 starting CBs. For financial reasons, it is probably best if one is on a rookie contract. I don't know if they will cut DRC next year.
