nflscouting : 4/29/2016 9:56 pm
Okay my Big Blue buddies. Happy? I am jumping out of my pants (close your eyes). You know how much I touted this kid. Now, he's right where he belongs, in a Blue uniform.
This is STERLING SHEPARD TIME - profile, scouting report, and please look at the link to the comparison chart. You can read this article here;

I have to say he wasn't my first choice in the 2nd round. But the more I read and the more tape I watch, he looks like a really good football player. Big time production last year. Probably one of the best run after the catch guys in the draft, which fits our system. I like the comments about his ability to beat press coverage in the article. Sounds like a tough kid, with big hands and who is really strong for his size. He looks like a great route runner.

Reminds me of.....Victor Cruz.
Thanks again, Dave-Te'.

DAVE TE SHEPARD RE-POST

Hey guys, I noticed Shepard's stats did not go up on his article. If you want to see the year by year numbers, go back here & scroll down to the bottom. Now, I did tell you I'm a computer dummy before, right? Well, it showed through when I saw I did not put his stats on - pretty cool numbers I think.

Thanks Dave ...

Wonderful report.

The two things that jump out at me are his abilities to ...

(1) Set up the CB with a move, then wait till the defender bites, then execute his separation move. How many times do you see a receiver try a move (which the defender recognizes, and adjust to) - the result is the QB doesn't both throwing the ball. The play has failed.

(2) The ability to compensate for a poorly thrown ball. Many times that's a life-saver for errant balls that would otherwise be intercepted.
